It's a warm welcome to the first match day thread of the new season where we are back in the not unfamiliar surroundings of the championship and I'm sure it's a warm welcome and some friendly banter we will be looking forward to from 23 teams chomping at the bit to get tore into us.
No sense in looking back again at the countless failures of the last few seasons so now we have to look forward, regroup and somehow get out of this godamn league at the first attempt.
Team news.
Leeds.
Typical of us to have a record number of injuries before the season starts. Missing include Bamford, Adams, Harrison, Firpo, Drameh, Greenwood, Dallas, Rutter and Joseph. Most probable that those who started in the Hearts game and can still walk will start this first game.
Cardiff City
New manager Erol Bulhut has brought 6 new players in including Aaron Ramsay who we are hoping is as rubbish as he was when playing for Glasgow Rangers. They also have several injury concernswith regular goalkeeper Allsop missing and only one centre back fully fit.
Positivity and our camaraderie will be the order of the day so in that note I will go for 3.1 Leeds. Sini, Ayling and whoever plays up front.
Good luck and best wishes go to Daniel Farke and our new owners and let's raise a glass to Absent Friends.

Got to build on blocks. First game under a new manager with half a squad injured and another load of players not yet signed. Play like we did second half and we will be up there.

Negatives - two shots, two goals from them. Same old. I couldn’t work out the system first half though. It was like two at the back with Ayling right wing and Gray tucking in to help out.
Gnonto isn’t a number 9.
James looked lost until Byram came on.
Positives.
We never gave up.
Byram has quality. Hope he stays fit.
Summerville and Sinistera make things happen. Can we keep them both?
I like Poveda. He attacks full backs.
Archie is going to be huge for us I think.
Once we got going the goals were inevitable. Just a shame we didn’t get the second a bit sooner.

I couldnt see system either, but commentators were going on about it incessantly.
Bielsa had system. you could see it, he needed full summer to implement it, I find it hard to believe Farke has a more harder to adopt system (commentators kept saying it takes a long time for players to get used to).

Glad poveda back. No Harrison today?
Joy of us being back in the championship is that I'm not overly bothered. We are a million miles away from being a prem team and until we get real about what it takes (i.e. an actual striker and defence), the championship is where we will remain. Farke as I startled a month or so ago shows the lack of ambition the club has.
My feeling is we will finish top 6 this season.

No, surprisingly they didn’t play Harrison who’s been injured all close season and hasn’t trained or played since the final game of last season.

I'm sure you'll read this, but pretend you haven't, but while we're at it I'd appreciate an update on the money raised for Harj that was surplus.

It's not " concerted harassment ".
Lowfields only comments when things aren't going our way, it's ALWAYS negative and sneering and it never has any insightful content. He's annoying and he knows it, revels in it.
I'm reminded of a guy a couple of rows behind me in the West Stand on one of my rare trips to ER ( it's a 756 mile round trip ) a few years back. He just kept up a loud, dreary monologue about how carp the players, tactics and manager were for the whole 90 minutes!
