So, here we go (again)!!!
Pre-season has been largely disappointing, but then again, as long as we get fitter and players don’t fall apart, who cares.
The game against Frankfurt showed we are getting there, when we’re closer to full strength. We are only 2-3 signings (plus 3-4 returning players) away, from being stronger than we were at the end of last season.
Shelvey and Powell both look like they can make the step-up in the next few years. Hopefully them and Aguilera get some good loans.
It looks like Aina will be the bargain of the season. Elanga should balance us out re attacking threat. I know nothing about Turner, other than we need a GK to challenge Henderson (if he signs / when fit).
It doesn’t look like anything else is close elsewhere:
* GK - Henderson (end of window mind games)
* CB - Ibanez (choosing SA)
* LWB - Jakobs (too much $$$)
* DM - Sangare (end of window)
* CM - Barrios (derisory offer)
* FWD - Guirassy (interest shown)
* U21 FWD / WGR - ??? (rejected by a load of Brazilians)
Priority being the CB, DM and FWD positions, with the rest arriving closer to the end of the window.
Likely XI:
I’m going to predict that Cooper will spring a few shocks in our lineup: (Awoniyi & Felipe listed as currently injured)
Turner
*Felipe Boly McKenna
Aurier Mangala Yates Aina
Danilo MGW
*Awoniyi
If we are losing (highly likely), I would expect to see the following changes:
Turner
Aurier *Felipe Boly Aina
Mangala Danilo Yates
MGW
Johnson Elanga
Prediction:
Well, we beat them last time, but they were a bit of a wounded animal. This one is also away, with us all knowing how that typically goes.
We looked solid enough against Frankfurt, but their finishing was woeful. Saying that, we had a perfectly good goal and penalty ruled out.
3-1 to Arsenal
Around the World:
Derby and Huddersfield continued last seasons form, with both teams losing their opening fixtures.
Here in Sydney:
Cooked a great breakfast earlier - French toast, wilted spinach w/Italian herbs, beans, sausages, fried egg.
Just waved the missus goodbye for 10 days holiday 🥳

Possession; number of shots; xG. Who cares. Stats are for people with no passion.

What a stupid comment. Stats are for people who like to understand the game. How about this stat? You got no points. In an away performance. As usual

You won 2-1 and you’re not happy! What’s the matter with you?

Here is another stat. As usual you have bottled every chance to win in Europe as usual. Forest have 2 Champions League wins. You can use stats in anyway you want. By the end of the season Arteta will be gone as your board will want someone who can ensure the team does not bottle it.

Reading the comments pre game think we were realistic to know this was always going to be tough and a danger like last season of hurting the goal difference.
Cooper tactics were spot on and he almost pulled of another miracle, man’s a legend
No real harm done and we can focus now on Sheff U

At least we now get deluded Leicester fans making snide comments instead of deluded Rams fans!
Not pretty to watch us parking the bus, but sensible tactics away to Arsenal with both first choice CBs and our main striker injured.
Great breakaway goal to give us a sniff of 2-2, and despite Lineker and Shearer laughing it off we should have had a penalty by today's standards when Rice turned goalkeeper.
Plenty of work to do, still gave the ball away far too easily but the three new signings all did well.

Not that purebred moron surely?
While Forest enjoy a second season in the toughest league in the World, a broken Leicester City are preparing to join the sheepsters in L1 it's really soo funny.
At least the sheep are resigned to being a small time club in a minor league!

You’ve got to remember that Tonto (this charming fan) has been peppering the Leicester boards of recent, revelling in our relegation while he barely posted a thing while we were lifting the PL and FA cup trophies. So i think he’s due a bit in return if Forest look like they’re struggling this season - and they will if they don’t plau more positively than that
We’ve been in the toughest league (and won it recently) for about 10 years so we know all about it thanks. You’ll be lucky if you get anywhere the recent success we’ve had. We’ve won trophies during an era of unprecedented spending, competing against City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs etc - you guys have done next to nothing since you were graced with a genius over 40 years ago. There isn’t much you can really wum Leicester about anymore - we’ve been there and won it and done it very recently.
As I think all the bookies know - we’ll be back in the PL next season - absolutely no doubt about that. When we are, we’ll be paying Tonto a visit
