Thing is that it's all very well saying either pay what we want or fick off but Spurs could miss out on 90m this time next year if Kane goes on a free.
Guess you have to ask yourself whether having Kane for another 1season is worth that sot of financial hit.

We have money to spend every summer. Even this summer with no Euro money we have spent the best part of £100m net.
Depending on how this season goes, if the team/squad look good and settled, then a striker could be our big signing next summer.
Generally we dont need to sell to buy. We do need to sell to get players off our books and have a tight squad, but we have not been reliant on money in from sales to fund new signings for ages.

And if Kane stays and guides back into the CL next season, which I think he will, that alone will be worth probably £60 million. Also Kane did not cost a penny, so they will not be taking a hit at all.
As it stands he is probably more valuable to Spurs right now, then just trying to cash in, with not a chance of getting a replacement striker in anytime before the season starts.

That’s a very good price for a 30 year old in the last year of his contract, Leby would be dumb to turn that down
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So fans of other clubs keep telling us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly this. If Lewandowski was worth 45m just before turning 34, Kane after just turning 30 is worth over 100m. Both City and now Bayern failed to pay the price, despite what the media do to try and talk up a move.
Simple pay the figure or feck aff..

SSN seem to be the only ones pushing this at the moment. Phrases like "clubs locked in talks" and "negotiations ongoing" make it sound as if something is happening bit i think theyre overplaying it.
They have probably consulted their Skybet department and been told 'we'll make more money if he goes to Munich' so SSN are pushing this hard.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sky are embarrassing themselves with all the Kane nonsense. Most of it is made up on the hoof. Last week their sources said it was nailed on Bayern, now they are saying Kane is happy at Spurs.
Frankly they are clueless, and just spending endless hours talking about Kane, because they have SFA to talk about. Same as other media outlets, most of it is made up nonsense to feed their dopey viewers, listeners.

He didn't cost us anything in the first place so it's not exactly a hit. There's probably more value in having him play for one last season.

Maybe at 5 years old he didn't cost anything. But that's naive SANDY rubbish.
Now ...TODAY ...he's worth plenty and Levy knows that. IF Kane leaves for free next year that money is lost. And its money Levy could use...use it now or lose it!
The Levy dilemma.

We are not a club that needs to sell to buy.
Our FFP position is solid.
Look at this summer, best part of £140m to be spent and that's without any Euro football or any significant sales (Winks £10m).
There is no burning need to realise the £100m of Kane to buy a new striker, and right now we could not attract a £100m striker anyway.
If Kane stays that gives us the best chance to make UCL. Not a certainty but a chance and if that happens then having him will have earned us £60m upwards for the UCL (probably5th place this season will achieve this). Without him the chances are probably zero.
Its not as simple as £100m now or zero in a year.
We could sell him, spend £60m on a fwd, still not get UCL and actually we are worse off !
Keep him, hope and pray we get top 5, and see what happens. Regardless, we'll have money to spend next summer as we have had this summer !
