A few sources are now reporting the deal for Maguire to WH is now close with personal terms in advanced stages??
Could this deal finally be happening? I would have thought he wouldn't want to leave and being on massive wages agreeing terms with another team would end up being the major blocker but if the rags are to be believed it seems this may not be an issue.

United probably giving him a chunk of the fee so he takes reduced money at West Ham?

Fee agreed. Seems like we’ve settled on the 30 million. The right move for all imo.

Nope.
We wanted £35m, but settled at a reduced £30m with WHU and Maguire sorting his wages out themselves.

Talk that West Ham have promised to make him captain if he signs.

You'd think that not being captain would be better for him so he can just concentrate on his own game.
I've no faith Bailly won't get injured on the way there!

Yes i think we were after £35m but have compromised on £30m with WH covering all his wages, now personal terms are suddenly not an issue.

Maguire taking a wage cut?
Or West Ham going to pay him 190k a week?
From a United perspective it's very good business to get 30m and shift those wages.

Ridiculous strategy.
Obviously better is always being sought - as it should be - but if off-loading someone is necessary in order to fund and facilite a move in, then the strategy should be getting rid of crap defenders like dalot or lindelof. I mean bailly is still there for no valuable reason. It's a far better idea than getting rid of someone that is, at least, competent.
United's incoming and outgoing policy is still very skewed.
Transfers in/out are supposed to IMPROVE squad strength. This has not done that - unless those others identified above go as well. And THEN better are bought in - and that is very much the easy part.
