They look to be our next targets depending on sales.
With the Maguire sale looking increasingly likely now we will probably move for Todibo now.
With Fred and Donny likely to be off as well there still being a chance McTominay goes we will likely move for Amrabat before the end of the month also.
It keeps up this summers theme of not targeting big stars but looking at players at good ages who fit what we are looking for.
I know little about Todibo and only saw Amrabat in a couple of WC games.
Anyone seen much of either and what could we expect from them?

You can’t play a settled side when you’re relying on Varane to start games.

Yeah, but surely dropping someone in to replace him is better than shifting another player’s position, then dropping someone into replace them.
You’re disturbing more partnerships doing that.
Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, anyway.

How do you work that out? If Varane’s partnership is with Licha and Pavard then he’s out, you have to build to knew partnerships with whoever replaces him. Maybe you unsettle the right back, but maybe he slots across fine if he’s been playing regularly.
Pavard makes sense to me as he can slot in at cb and isn’t shiiiiiit at right back like our other right backs. Ideally I’d prefer we sign a top right back and cb but that doesn’t look like happening so Pavard could be a decent signing instead.

I think it only really works if he’s brought in to be our first choice RB and genuinely wants to play there (which reports claim not to be the case and why he wants to leave Bayern) or he’s happy to be Varane’s understudy with the prospect of playing often with Varane being injured a lot and ultimately taking his spot (which he might see as a bit of a risk).
Buying him to alternate from CB to RB just doesn’t sound sustainable to me.

Thinking mainly about building a relationship with Antony, but also more generally about patterns of play, particularly in beating the press.

ETH is fond of automatisms, and therefore of fielding groups of players together as much as possible. I agree with Rosso that shifting Pavard between different positions seems, which means the relationships between two positions and other players are less consistently drilled, seems contrary to this.
Pavard's versatility seems useful, but I think I'd rather go for a player who is better than him in one of those positions. I don't see Pavard as long-term first choice in either role.

I’m sure the replacement right back will get familiar with receiving back passes from Antony.

In Arsenal theres only Gabriel and Saliba, but we need 4 freaking CBs on high level. It's crazy

I'd favor Pavard tbh

Arsenal also have White and now Timber, not just the 2 you mentioned. Most top level clubs should aim to have 2 quality players for every position.
