Should we accept?
Not the worst money for a 30 year old squad player in his final year of contract.
We finally seem to be getting the clear out that we’ve needed for years.

I'll keep him instead tbh. We should really sell eriksen instead

Don’t disagree but it appears ETH wants another ball progressor rather than a work horse.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fred really isn't a ball carrier, and although he's more of a progressive passer than McT, he's far too erratic with his delivery and gives the ball away far too often.
Eriksen has a bunch more tools than Fred as well as being more reliable on the ball. Their creativity, particularly in execution, can't really be compared.
All we'll really be losing with Fred is his energy and availability.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The way I see it, Eriksen is going to be close to unplayable in most real situations the team will face. He's a slower, weaker, less accurate version of himself. Clearly not going to start a lot of games and no use as a sub in most situations were we need a burst of energy both defensively and offensively. ETH likes his players but seeing his general frailties, eriksen would just be an addition to the team just for sentimental reasons. I hope I'm wrong.

Romano now reporting the sale is close. Best of luck to Fred. Seems a nice guy who gave it his all but he was far too inconsistent.

He’ll be used against weaker opposition to help unlock defences, and when we need a goal with 20 mins or so left in a game.
Fred wouldn’t be of any use in either situation.

That’s something really likeable about Fred. Even if he isn’t a grate footballer.

It’s probably because he always had his hand in the air acknowledging his mistakes, a real honest liability

Yes, you bite Fenerbahce's hand off for €15 million for Fred.
We just need to get rid of as many players that we have no use for now.
Eriksen is the new Juan Mata.
