How & why are Chelsea doing it?

With 50m Lavia shortly joining the Blues, the 115m Caicedo transfer completed.

Spending under the Boehly- Clearlake ownership edging closer to the 1 billion pound figure.

The question being asked is how has this been possible?

Lots of accusations of breaking the FFP rules flying around by the less well informed ( sorry Sandy, but it is true)

Why are players finding Cfc a more attractive destination ?

In Liverpool, the view is, it is the money and the players must prefer London, both points do have a ring of truth:

Long term contracts, give the players greater long term security, living in London opposed Liverpool , (no disrespect , but , well err, come on):

But also, it would be slightly disingenuous not credit Cfc - the new ownerships current approach, (although the first 12 months was a real mess)

The Chelsea project is now looking like an exciting proposition to be part of, credit to the ownership, as they seem to be pulling the club back from the possibility of mid table oblivion

But since the sporting directors have taken charge & Poch has been put in place, the anticipated clear out is all but achieved, aprx 250m in sales in (12 players out) with another 100m + ( 4/5 players out) anticipated.

The squad rebuild to date will when finished in this window see 20 players come in over the last three windows. 2/3 have not worked out, Khoudibaly, Cucerella, it is the nature of the beast tbh.

The club have over paid for Caicedo, but he is the real deal and will bring the squad together:

The total spend will be aprx 1 billion out with aprx 400m in = 600m invested in this squad.

It has been reported that the FFP is being managed as follows.

The first 600m spending has been ( divided ) amortized over 8 years= 75m per season cost to the club.

The second 400m spending has been amortized over 5 years = 80m per season cost to the club.

So the 1 billion is costing the club 155m per season for 5 years, there after 75m for a further 3 years.

Next, the sales of 400m aprx will be credit on the books. Clearing the most recent 3 year FFP cycle between 2020- 2023 120m)

Despite the 1 billion pound spend , the club will be within FFP providing the clubs revenues maintain a top 4 income level, which will require the club to re-attain & maintain its C/L status.

?Income breakdown required : per season: 480m

Wages 225m :

Amortized payments 155m:

Operating cost 100m:

These figure are an approximation , but they are there about, give or take:

The strategy is within the rules, but it comes with huge risk.

The club must maintain C/L status to be confident of that level of income, competition, sponsorship ect.ect.

This profile also ensures CFc are going to attract the worlds best players, which is an essential.

But it is not guaranteed, as nothing in football at this level is.

Next the truth is Cfc have now been loaded 1 billion pound worth of debt

So taking all this into consideration, the club are going all out for a C/L place, it will be quite a stretch considering the settled condition of our rivals & all the unknowns related to the development of the young but gifted Cfc squad

City, Afc, nailed 1 & 2 , Newcastle, Utd, Liverpool & Cfc are expected to fight for 3, & 4th places. 5th place, will under the new C/L format achieve entry into the competition for the 24/25 season.

Sixth place will not attain C/L football.

COY Blues. KTBFFH

Not cheating at all. If you think we're cheating at anything then I suggest you call or email the Premier League immediately with your accusations. You can post their reply here when you get it. Good lad.

Allegedly the Liverpool owners have flown in to discuss the Chelsea spending and the governing bodies are keeping a close eye.

Swiss Ramble have already said they are holding off on their Chelsea addition until the end of the window - think it could be some very interesting reading when it does come out.

I don’t think it’s cheating, I think it’s a schitt or bust strategy

Oh no not the Liverpool owners. We're in big trouble now I guess.

Feel many people are overlooking something - we've also built up our loan army again and all those players will be worth 50-100% more come next season at a minimum a couple may be 200-300% more if they have a good loan

OP

In answer to your question of how are Chelsea doing it. Simple. They are cheating and circumnavigating FFP rules. They are obviously as well giving massive bungs to the incoming players. Why else would all of these players suddenly want to go to Chelsea, with no European football, small stadium etc, etc.

Absolutely needs investigating.

Nobody says, "I don't have a clue what I'm talking about" without actually saying it, better than Sandy!

1,000,000,000 pounds in two windows.
I think they'll crack top ten this year, maybe no Europe will help a bit.

You spent about £300m to get relegated btw

What you’re doing is still cheating no matter how you dress it up. It’s all you know. I give Poch until December max.

Spuddlings telling us how the future will work out.....only took 20 years and a war to make the last one come true

No cheating and Pooch will be winning trophies soon

But please cry more - Spuddling tears are always so sweet!

I’m guessing you are definitely one of these fans that has supported Chelsea through thick and thick - Chelsea been in your family for years, legacy fans, live near the ground.

You will be a PSG or Newcastle fan in a decade, guaranteed.

I knew 2 real, genuine Chelsea fans growing up, circa 2005 a load of nobbs I previously knew who “supported” Man United or Liverpool were suddenly “supporting” Chelsea. Honestly the most plastic club going, even City are more legitimate than you lot
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah - of course you do!

Genuinely, I would like to know where all this money come from?

Of course, the Saudis have pumped few £££ in through the back door by getting rid of Chelsea deadwoods and then that balanced the books for FFP.

Its all there but PL are profiteering hugely from this, like FIFA did,

Bent like a rusty lot. Chelsea are just takig advantage of the PL and their silence in exchange for wad load of cash.

Funny thing since most our money has come from Arsenal and United this window............

I love how Spurs fans come on here giving it the biggun because we are showing ambition (risky though it is I agree) when they run their business with a corner shop mentality for a supposedly big Club.

There is nothing wrong with building a nice new shiny stadium to supposedly underwrite the football Club which I get, but the problem is that their two bob owners just appear to trouser the profits rather than properly reinvesting it back in the team.

That is why their better players like HK don’t want to stay with them because as a football Club they show 0% ambition.

Now like everyone else on here I don’t know if Boehly’s gamble will pay off or not but I do reckon one thing. We will be better than Spurs this season.

Love it when people desperately try to ignore all the money we've made from player sales and there's still more players to sell. It paints a much tidier picture of the situation if you do but they're not looking for that of course. This is all just about jealousy of us signing top players. We're doing it perfectly legally, so suck it up jealous cry babies
