Chelsea player profiling

Including Lavia and Olise, every outfield player Chelsea have signed in this window has fit exactly the same physical profile. To steal from Nina Simone, they’re young, gifted and black.

Do you think this is deliberate from Chelsea? The young and gifted bit definitely is as they’re obviously targeting younger players who they can put on cheaper contracts compared to the older players they’ve got off the books, in order to help with FFP. But are the club targeting black players as they perceive them to have physical/athletic advantages or is it a complete coincidence?

I asked you to list the other "ethnic groups" that YOU cited.

I disagree when you asked "Aren't most footballers black?", because they're not.

Honestly, how do you function?

Admin, do the right thing and let's not have him back this time. Guy is a complete pr!ck.

OP

However you dress it up, Chelsea are cheating and fiddling the books somewhere. Just a matter of finding the evidence, and Chelsea FC and Boeley will be toast.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You never stop, do you?

Get a calculator, take away 250m from 1 billion ... I can give you a hint if you want. Then divide it by the length of the contracts given to the players, It comes to 140m a year. With revenues of over 400m even without Champions League and with the huge reductions the club has made in wages, Chelsea still have around 60m to play with after Lavia and Olise, more so when they sell Ziyech, Lukaku, CHO and Chalobah. Add to that the fact that Clearlake cleared all our debts when they bought the club, and they are an investment fund full of financial experts, I think they may know just a little more than you about finance.

It's a risky strategy which will work if 5 or 6 of the players turn out to be "perfect" investments and fulfill their promise. If they all fail, we will be screwed, I give you that much. However, you are p¡ssing up the wrong tree with your other accusations. Maybe you should be thinking of how your club are going to reinvest the 100m you made on Kane and hope they do a better job of it than they have in previous seasons.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Your club is a joke right now. Completely clueless owner just throwing money around with absolutely no strategy.

Only a matter of time before he collapses the club. Over a billion spent on average players to finish 10th last season, and I suspect the same this season.

Feel sorry for you fella, you won`t have a club soon. You don`t have to be a financial expert to see the direction this is all going.

This must be about the 6th time Sandy has said we won't have a club soon!!

Remember not long ago he said we wouldn't be able to spend again, like we did under Roman!!

Brummie and the other Chelsea fans on here.

Rory Smith said something that makes sense re: Amortisation. He said that Chelsea can say they’re going to pay £115m in 8 yearly instalments over the term on the contract on paper. But in terms of actual money coming in and out of the club that’s not how transfers work. Do you honestly think Brighton are going to accept a bid of £115m, let one of their top players leave and then accept £11m over 8 years?

Na, he said it’ll likely (in actual money terms not a balance sheet on paper) be 2-3 payments made to Brighton. That’s how most transfers work apparently and not the way Chelsea have been doing it.

Then he clearly doesn't understand how amortisation works.

It isn't the transfer fee that is Amortised, it's the players contact as I understand it!

Having got back on the road, after shovelling my scran down at a service station and having time to think what I previously posted, I've realised I've had a bit of a Sandy moment.

Pretty sure that the transfer fee is averaged out over the term of the contract for FFP purposes. It doesn't matter if we pay it off in a oner, as in the Caicedo case, his transfer fee is averaged over what I think is an 8 year contract, meaning that for FFP, it works out at around £15m per annum.

Happy to be corrected if you can find a reliable source that says otherwise!
