Forest v S.United - Match Thread

A game against the delightful Sheffield United awaits.

Last time out against Arsenal, we were unlucky to not sneak a draw. Just hours later, Palace enjoyed 24 (8) shots compared to Sheffield United’s 8 (1).

Despite the Blades losing Berge and Ndiaye they have picked up Tom Davies and Gus Hamer as part of seven signings. Traore being the only one to start so far. Mr Stamp might be back for them also.

This could be Johnson’s last start for Forest, with Chelsea now registering interest. Part of their €1.2 billion plus negative spend since the start of the 22/23 season, this could see them spend over €1.3 billion on wages and transfers in less than two seasons. This figure includes their recent exodus.

…and here we are worrying about FFP. I’m beginning to realise why everyone hates Chelsea.

With no new signings (imminent and available) to start the game, do we go 4 at the back and play with Johnson and Elanga on the wings? Or do we stick with 3 at the back that started against Arsenal.

Personally I’m hoping for this:

Turner
Aurier Worrall Boly Aina
Johnson Mangala Yates Elanga
MGW
Awoniyi

Prediction:

We all know what happened last time, and whilst our squad has improved immeasurably, they’ve arguably lost their two best players.

3-0 to Forest.

Around the World:

Derby continue their march to League 2, Scarpa is skating in Athens and Surridge is firing it up in Nashville.

Here in Tokyo:

A scorching 35 degrees and 16k steps has seen my feet swell to the size of a Neanderthal. I also had the best egg sandwich of my life, from a 7/11 no less.

COYR’s!!!

Elanga and Yates changed the direction of the game

Great for Wood and Awoniyi to get on the scoresheet for different reasons

Plenty of work still to do, on and off the pitch.

At times we over played when simple passes would have been better. Against better teams we will need to be a lot more accurate. That said hopefully that will give us a good confidence boost going in to a few difficult away games.

reddave: you have got to be a matelot or an ex-matelot after stating "their manager never stops dripping". In the 40+ years since I left the mob, I have never heard that phrase used in civvy street.
Regards, an ex WAFU.

Redfor60yrs: If we play 3 at the back, then Neco for Serge. Serge is a right back, not a wingback. He is a good left back, but not in a three.

He's the opposite to Figuerido a few years ago, he was great in a three at the back but couldn't play in a standard back four. In a back four, he always had an error in him, but in a back three, I can't remember him making a mistake.

Wafu you say ! I’m an ex greenie. Been a while probably forgot more Jack sayings than I can remember

Just to clarify for folks that don't know what we're talking about.
WAFU means Wet And Fecking Useles, and is used for folk that were in the Fleet Air Arm of the Navy. A greenie is an electrician. I think that term is used for the FAA and general service, but I could be mistaken. I'm sure Redforever can clarify that.

Serge or Neco?

Not much between them imo. Serge defends better, Neco offers more going forward.
Having said that, I don't think I would pick Neco in a back four if Serge is available.

I'd expect a more defensive set up at OT - similar to the Arsenal game; so Serge to keep his place.
