As a parent to a 2 year old I've been following this story of this evil and sick woman. My son when born had to remain in Neonatal for 6 days after his birth and during this time your baby is in the care of nurses and doctors.
So to find that she is guilty of murdering babies while pretending to care for them in a hospital makes me sick.

Injecting babies with air, insulin, keeping trophies. It's as evil as it gets. I want her dead but that is too easy, i hope her life in prison is pure torture. I hate her.
There's not much that gets to me, but torturing a being that has no concept of what is happening, that can only feel pain just fills me with anger
Lucy Letby - as evil as Shipman

I've followed the trial throughout. Whilst the evidence is highly circumstancial, there is a lot more evidence that was heard in court but not reported at the time.
Such as the fact that they've only had 1 death in 7 years, but suddenly had a huge spike. They investigated for infections etc, but drew blanks. The only common denominator was Lucy Letby.
They reviewed all of the medical notes, tens of thousands of them as well as computer and door access data. They started to spot patterns, all linking back to Lucy Letby. Babies collapsing in identical circumstances, i.e. just after parents had left the room or whilst Letby was covering other staff breaks.
I was in two minds during the trial, but I'm now satisfied that the jury made the correct decision.

I thought you would have fought back about the credentials of the crackpot Fenton so was leaving below for then but you didn't attempt it, so I'll give you it now.
So this crackpot is very good with statistics, obviously, being a PHD graduate in the field. However he's also very good at manipulating statistics to show what he wants them to show.
His best example was when he was attempting to show how dangerous COVID vaccines were. I'm sure you've seen them on his crackpot blogs. He uses statistics showing AEs(adverse effects) and treats adverse effects like diarrhoea in the same category as a stroke. As you can understand this makes his claims seem much more believable to somebody just taking his statistics at face value.
There was a great Twitter exchange when he posted some other crackpot's statistics to the same effect and he defended the crackpot only to then be pointed to said crockpot's other theories, including where he signed a document supporting AIDS denial.
These crackpots love going against the grain and providing, let's say selective statistics to back up their point. People should not be falling for this guff. It is bloody mind-boggling how many people get dragged into these conspiracies which link into others ones and the chain continues.

She's launched an appeal now.
To counter that, the CPS think there are 3 more murders

I've read over the last week some serious doubts over the basis of the conviction of Letby raised by investigative journalist (publishing in Private Eye) Dr Phil Hammond. The crux of the argument seems to be that, in a case relying on circumstantial evidence, reliance on a statistical model that linked Letby to the deaths was significant, and that model was so flawed that it could have been used to demonstrate a link between the deaths and a number of individuals, while failing to identify a systemic issue with the ward.
I'm not equipped to assess the validity of this claim, nor of the conviction itself. But it's a reminder that humans and our institutions can make mistakes. I think important to keep this in mind when people in natural disgust advocate that someone deserves the death penalty.
