One Billion pounds
Seriously, wtf, the media and all the arm chair managers have got their shizzell in a twist
From one end of the footballing world to the other Boehly - Clearlake are being demonized as if they have just reinvented footballing finance to suit their own underhand ambitions
The truth is Cfc under Abramovich, Cfc were amortizing at 170m per season as standard practice.
If you have an issue with that as being fact , please do your research and google it
The 1 billion that Cfc are on course for spending will amortize over 5 seasons at 200m per season + 30m per season.
All the outrage is based upon sour-embittered thinking, 30m per season + into days market,is hardly blatantly riding rough shod over FFP
What is the issue-Cfc amortization hits

Chelsea added about 140m to amortisation of already about 170m, offset by sales which have probably wiped off about 60m so far.
So amortisation of about 250m is off the charts and will struggle to be viable

Chelsea will get done one way or another. Karma always comes back to bite you, ask your war criminal sympathising gangster oligarch.

Cfc have sold all the players from that period, so I would assume that they will post losses for any outstanding amortization fees , not met, which will show as one time figures, not as ongoing responsibilities.
Chelsea do still have 5 players to sell. ( 2 from that period)
Lukaku, 35m value ( i assume will post a loss) 10m region
Ziyech 10m ( aprx) ( i assume will post a small loss)
CHod, Chalobah, & Gallagher academy players all up for sale total profit.
After that all the other players will have been sold from the original squad only James, Silva & Chilwell remain.
Plus Maatsen, Broja academy players & Sarr who has been on the books for several years.
I cant really see where you get the 250m off the chart figure from. or are you suggesting that this would be a one time payment, which is really in a different context.
The club simply does not have the players on the books.
The 1 billion figure is ( will be the aprx cost of the new squad)
Yes i agree the figure has increased , by 30m p/a but really all this noise is a bit over blown imo

Devon, (correction), "are you suggesting the + 50m will be a one off payment "?

So is spending 230 million every summer on what is classed as transfers for 5 seasons in a row normal ? I’m not including city but have they even done that ?
Unless I’m reading your article wrong that’s what you are saying ?
I mean all top clubs have spent that say 2-3 out of 5 seasons but 5 in a row ?
If you don’t make champs league in the next two you could be in a spot of bother ….you will be pressured to sell some of the players who you will class as your best to balance the books
It’s a big gamble

I not sure what you mean,
Cfc will be amortizing at 200m per season on 1 billion.
That is 30m + on the last year under Abramovich.
It is a rolling figure.
The point in case for Cfc is that they will have sold the whole squad , bar three players and have there after bought a new squad 20 players in for this money.
So i ask is that normal, no imo. yours ?
Agreed it is a big gamble, but the point is they have brought in 20 players and will have moved nearly 20 players.
i assume they are not intending to continuing turning over players at the same rate. As they now have the new squad.
The amortization cost is 30m per season over what Cfc were paying at points over Abramovich.(170m)
What is getting attention is that the club have put such a huge amount of funds out over 3 windows.
It is nothing more than a business strategy, you may or may not like it , but the people who own the club made a decision to sell the whole squad and build a new one over 3 transfer windows.
They have the funds and they now must comply with FFP, failure to do so will come with consequences.
Where does the 230m per season come from.????
That is a figment of someones imagination
Cfc will have to settle the amortization losses on the players sold which will come out of the funds generated when the club finish the sales in the this window, the next winter window by the next reporting date June 01/ 24. a one off payment.
Yes it is calculated Gamble, but i really cant see someone investing the amount of money these guys have unless they felt confident.
Time will tell.
But increasing the amortization by 30m to 200m is not turning footballing finance on its head.
A top level club who has won 2 champions leagues and a hand full of EPL trophies, world club ect ect, in the last 20 years selling their whole squad and buying a new squad in three seasons is unusual, but that its , get over it and move.
