Good win for Spurs yesterday against

a side Spurs have not done well against recently. Excellent on the front foot display. Yes United had chances, but then so did Spurs, and I think Spurs completely overran United for a 30 minute period 2nd half, and were well worth their win.

It doesn`t take a rocket scientist to see the immediate improvement in Spurs. New goalie, new CB and new left back, and the midfield is like chalk and cheese. Last season PEY and Skipp, this season going forward Bissouma, Maddison, Sarr and the returning Bentancur, making it an absolute quality of a midfield. Is it any wqnder Spurs struggled last season with just PEH and Skipp.

Yesterday Bissouma, Sarr and Maddison were pure quality, easy on the eye, took me back to the days of Hoddle and Ossie in midfield in the early 80s. Hopefully get the same result over time. Trophies.

The good thing about yesterday is that they are finally playing as a team, everything is not revolving around just one player, as it has been for a while. Even though the forwards are not actually scoring, they are putting in lots of hard work, and contributing to a team effort. I am sure in time the goals from the forwards will start to come. That`s not to say Spurs do not need another striker, they do, and I would be very surprised if Toney is not incoming, once he has finished his ban.

One game a week with this set of players is surely going to propel Spurs into the top four this season, and hopefully add a trophy. Be ironic really when the supposedly main man has left, and Spurs were supposed to be fighting relegation.

Looking forward now, Spurs have the early kick off at Bournemouth on Saturday, so a chance to go top of the table for a few hours at least. Then followed by games at Burnley and a home game with Sheffield United. Surely Spurs would be looking to win all three of those games. That would really put down a marker for the rest of the season.

Everything to like about the way things are going, and the DL haters hopefully will be silenced as the season progresses, and finally Spurs emerge from their trophy drought.

Exciting times to be a Spurs supporter.

Sandy your "kids in a sweetshop" comment is spot on.

No one is saying that Levy is faultless. He made plenty of mistakes and in the last 3 years these have cost us, but as Bissouma has shown, the mistakes are not limited to DL. Actually DL got an amazing deal over the line for Conte, £25m for Bissouma is amazing when Rice et al are costing 100m. From then on it was Conte who made the poor decisions.

Spurs have Bis & Mads for 65m , a CM pairing that just played Uniteds 125m duo off the park.

Spurs have to shop carefully and in those 2 signings they have done what we have been so good at over the years. Our list of expensive flops much worse. Carefully selected, quality, right player for the right system is what we need to do. Not waste the money we now have from kane, not rush into a buy when we have options already, not over spend silly money.

Fans need to pipe down with the anti DL, especially those who contribute nothing to the club. Get behind the team in this new era, and just park all the negativity for now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree with the points you have made.

What irritates is that Levy does not look like he learns from the footballing mistakes he has made since owning Spurs.

No fan on here expects or wants Levy to bankrupt Spurs, but why does it seem we have been "penny pinching" from the days of making £40m revenue a year to £400m.

It's proper small minded.

In fact PEH has had a very decent season, and always gives 100 per cent.

PEH is absolute and total crap, His passing is atrocious, his control is dreadful, his positioning is pretty bad and he cant even make a professional foul successfully.

As for 100 per cent, a 100% of crap is still crap. Sanchez always gives 100% as well does that make him a good player? Brian Gill gives 100% does that make him any good?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

To you he is. But to most Spurs supporters he is fine. You obviously have a silly agenda against him. Mind you I think you rated Winks, so not sure your opinion carries much weight.

I wouldn`t call Bissouma three times the player of PEH. In fact PEH has had a very decent season, and always gives 100 per cent.

I think that clears up your opinions on Bissouma nd PEH dont you? Oh of course that was last season and you change like the weather dont you?

Sorry am I getting "cocky"?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't trawl back through posts to try to prove a point. I am sure I could find plenty where you hsve been wrong. That's the sort if thing 12 year olds do.

As I said PEH is still a decent player, despite you not rating him. And Bissouma has improved massively this season.

He spent £60 million on Richarlison, £50 million on Ndombele. Hardly penny pinching.

Some just have an agenda against him.

Perhaps because he has been allowed on the damned pitch maybe?

Whatever. Why are you so concerned about last season? Just concentrate on this season.

How do you think Winks will get on in the Championship?

Not sure if it’s been mentioned here that although yesterday was great and it was brilliant to play such great football again, a more clinical opponent would have been out of sight by half time. We look great in midfield but toothless up top and really, really open at that back on the transition. Fantastic result but a hell of a lot to work on. Still a lot to do in the transfer market for me.

Fridge as usual negative. Not like Spurs didn't have lots of chances either.

Spurs were well worth the win yesterday against a tough opponent. Embrace the win.

I agree with some of your points but over the 90 minutes I thought we edged it for sure. At least we saw some open attractive football for once
