Anybody's Expectations Changed ?

I know we are only a couple of games in & as Ange himself says " we are still a work in progress" but the signs are really positive!

Understandably there were a lot of unknowns following Kane's departure but from a personal perspective I feel a lot more confident about what's possible this year.

For me, it's not about how much we spend, what I've noticed is how much better some of the players we already have look so much better, happier and confident playing for a manager they like and a formation that allows them to express themselves.

The Likes of Bissouma, Sarr and Romero are obvious examples but even guys like PEH and Sanchez are showing more than they ever did when given the chance than they did under the likes of Conte.

Clearly Madders, Udogie, VDV and Vicario all look like they are adapting to their new club better than a lot of recent signings because Ange appears to be giving them massive confidence and starting them all straight from the off.

I can't say enough good things about Ange, he's like a breath of fresh air. !!

Obviously, there's still a chance to get players in/ out but for the 1st time in a long time I feel really good about what we have, rather than worrying about what we need.

With all that said, has what we have seen from Ange in this short period raised your expectations for the season or are you still haunted by the past few years, worried about not getting new players/Levy impact ?

Playing the way we are/heading the way Ange wants us to play.... I feel like Spurs are a "City/Liverpool Lite"... Progressive football, Confident players Etc..... I Think Spurs are a good bet for Top 4 and a Cup.... I didn't think I'd be saying that 3 weeks ago!

Well done Big Ange

Arsenal have another easy start like last season. Yet again they get to play Palace before they can get going, so they will fool a lot of people into thinking they are title contenders this year.

Ok Sandy.

You do realise that everybody plays everybody else twice right?

Too early for me to get my hopes up. As I've said playing some good football and a top 8 finish will do me this season. I'm just happy that we're not playing negative football.

Well certainly very positive given a new manager and the players having to be "re-programmed' to a different style of play.

As many...its just nice to see us have the ball a bit after the last few years.

I'd still wager anywhere between 7th and 10th.

Hmm, if you look at Spurs games, there are sequence of games that look very easy too. The diff with Arsenal is that they are ahead of us in transition (theirs lasted 5 years ) so many games are relatively easier as Arsenal are much better these days.

Are they much better? One season in seven doesn`t make them better. I would expect Spurs to finish above them this season. One game a week will help Spurs immensely. Distinct advantage over the pack this season with no European football. Chelsea don`t have any either, but they are a complete mess.

Not going by how many seasons they have been good, just the fact that they play a very good football. I have to admit that they do flatter to deceive a bit, as there 11 games loss last season showed - they tailed off and fell apart like a pack of cards last season. They also rode their luck against Forest in the first game...That could be because it is the first game of the season and they are maybe a tad behind in their pre-season. Not sure.
For Spurs, to finish above Arsenal, it means Spurs being 2nd or 3rd at most. That is a big leap of you're placing on us going from 8th to those levels.

I think this is a progressive approach to going back to CL places, and this season is all about building that team and putting the foundations. We are in good shape, no less due to the likes of Bissouma and Sarr, the unfancied players under Conte finding their careers revived and given a proper chance to contribute. The syste, also suits them so much more.

I would deffo say Spurs will be well above the mid tables, unlike Paul Merson said in the gutter media. He said Spurs would struggle to get into the top half of the table

If Spurs finish above Arsenal, I would like the likes of Paul Merson and Martin Keown to leave the media and disappear. Utter dross.

If Spurs finish above Arsenal this season, maybe some on here could disappear as well, as they seem to have Arsenal nailed on better than Spurs, and Arsenal to finish top two, and Spurs to finish between 8th and 10th.

It’s two games, and we didn’t even win both of them ffs!

Personally I believe in rehabilitation and second chances otherwise what's the point?
-------------------------------------------------------------------

That depends on a lot of things. If you had a great gf and you cheated should she give you a second chance? Greenwood was in a fantastic position and wrecked it himself, not saying he should be banned from football forever but if he was a Spurs player I would not want him back. Mistakes cost a person and he is no different to anybody else just because he is a pro fotballer.

As for Spurs lets see where we are in a few games time. Yes its been a good start and we have entertained but lets not get carried away yet.
