So konate is likely injured

Another one that seems to be on the treatment table alot.

Who will we play. Matip is a risk with the high line whereas gomez may have the pace but seems to be a common demoninator when we get spanked.

We have the cash, buy a cb u tight mugs.

Yeah, the level drops when Ibbou isn't there but it's Newcastle away so it's nothing a little pragmatism can't fix. Have Trent staying back a bit more, like vs Bournemouth and Endo-san could help protect that area of defence.

Just keep it tight at the back and I trust our forwards to nick a goal or two, or a set piece goal.

Keeping Trent at right back is more of a concern than allowing him to invert

Midfield is where it’s won and lost for me. Tonali-Bruno-Joelinton up against Szob-Endo-Mac and for me there’s only one winner there….

I’m confident Trent can deal with Gordon if he plays but Barnes will be a problem in behind our ridiculous high line. Play like we did second half against Chelsea and the opening 10 against Bournemouth and without Konate, it’s going to be a long afternoon.

Talented defender but absolute crock. He’s missed far more games than he’s played over the last 3 or 4 seasons.

Mac and Szoboszlai are good as any Newcastle midfielders.

Endo is very debatable yes but so is Jolinton

the second the word hip was mentioned in relation to konate before he join3d us I said serve that.

footballers and bad hip do not make a good combo. he's very much plagued with muscle problems probably stemming from that.

buy a cb imo. now.

Anyone who watched the preseason games should be worried about the Newcastle match. Matip and Gomez simply don’t perform at a high level anymore and are both defensive liabilities who should have been moved on in the summer.

Klopp’s been bigging up Quansah so maybe we will see a surprise against Newcastle.

Facking hell, we've had enough outgoings this summer without selling Matip and Gomez as well

You don't remember all the suffering and lack of trophies since we had Trent at right back in our most successful era for over three decades?
