Rotherham v city match day live

Good morning peeps
A bit early today because i was
Feeling ok yesterday and then from
12 started to go down and spent
6hrs stuck in the kitchen fighting to get
Control of my breathing,
I was going to hit my panic button
Several times but if the para medics
Attended i would hsve been in hospital for
The week whilst they observe meπŸ™„

On the up side i managed ok after a bucket
Full drugs 😁

Rotherham not having the best start to the campaign but have brought in 6 players mostly
On loan
W0 D1 L2 - 4 pts 1 22nd

Think we will win today but teams will have had
People at the games and will be starting to form plans to counteract us,

Two more wingers inbound
Rumours
Daka away and possibly Castagne
Faes and nacho being sniffed at by Premier league sides
souter (sp) to rangers and Kristiansen

All possible deals happening if certain
People can actually manage multitasking

Off rock backwards and forwards in my chair
Whilst i wait for diner at 12

This is where I get frustrated, as a squad we had no confidence at all last season, whenever we conceded then we just buckled but this season we have been forced to fight and have overcome each time.
Yes it’s in the Championship but confidence builds by winning, and this is what we are doing.
We have had 4 …… YES FOUR league games with a new starting XI and some people expect us to be burying teams 5-0 each week. Teams that know we are a big fish so set up defensively and over time we should become cuter at how to be more dynamic and counteract this….
If you read some of these comments then you would think we had lost all of our league games.
I am not as ‘Sunshine & unicorn sheeeeite’’ as TB by any means but let’s take it for what it is.
Re Piroe, if we had sold any of our forwards then we would have gone in for him, we didn’t so we haven’t!
Vestergaard is a stop gap until Coady is back, this coming week will see more outs & ins and then let’s see where we are and how we are playing by the end of September. That’s a fair time to assess.
Yes it can be nerve jangling as some players are below what we want to see but we can only attract a certain level of player in the Championship.
4 league wins from 4….. let’s congratulate rather than rip the NEW TEAM apart!!!

Who is ripping the new team apart? Which new players have I slated? Mcateer? Mavidi? Name them. Vestergard isn’t new and he still can’t defend, Ndidi is as bad as he was last season - it’s great we’ve got rid of some of the deadwood but I’m entitled to criticise those we haven’t got rid of and who are STILL not performing.

In one sense I haven’t got over last season. I’m not sure I will. The very fact that we’ve played some pretty pedestrian below par stuff at times and we have 4 wins under our belt tells you that this is a division we shouldn’t be in. I can’t really be delighted at the prospect of returning to a yo yo club - because that’s what we now are

I don’t understand why fans can’t see through the gloss and shine Rudkin has put over the club to cover the bigger failings that are still there (namely him). The greatest period in our history is over. We are a championship club that will do well to stay in the PL at all next season and has little prospect of ever being where it was. That’s not just me being pessimistic - that is the financial state we are now in and returning to the PL at the first time of asking limits the damage - it can’t repair it

Getting promoted should be par for the course in this division - it’s the worst quality I’ve seen in a long time. What we have lost, isn’t going to come back under Maresca - I don’t care whether he has a 5 year plan or not - the club is run by an incompetent board who are incapable of rebuilding this club.

What the fans don’t get is that Maresca is ALREADY making the same noise Rodgers did. He’s already getting frustrated by the lack of transfer business and the narrow pool we are shopping in. Even if he is Pep mark 2 - I don’t think he will stay

So yeah I could sit here and pretend we’re going to be Brighton in a couple of years. I could sit here and be excited at the prospect of a fresh start. But I know this isn’t a fresh start. It’s the empowers new clothes

And by the way - if we haven’t sold our strikers to fund a move for Piroe - that’s on us. Leeds have managed to bring him in while being taken over during the process. Plenty of interest in Daka but no doubt the reason we haven’t shifted him on is because we’re holding out for stupid money.

To be fair to many of us on here 99 most of us have called out Rudkin for being the main issue that we still have at the club, I for some be have never defended him on here and I would drive him to Bradgate Park and leave him there myself if I could BUT that doesn’t mean that I cannot see a positive side to our squad in comparison to the BR mauled and ruined squad last season.
Re Daka, again it sounds like the club are trying to get close to what we paid which may be holding up a sale ( or there genuinely haven’t been any firm offers)… but if we sold him for a big loss people would jump up and down and if we are holding out for decent money then the club is wrong, that’s the difficulty in the transfer window that we are in.
But hopefully Enzo and the players can carry on what they are doing and we might get a positive 99 post before Christmas 🀷‍β™‚οΈπŸ‘πŸ˜‚

You’re not going to get a positive post from me until Top makes the real changes that are needed. Quite why fans think that the Maresca project is going to end in success under the same regime is beyond me. All that’s happening at the moment is that Rudkin is moving the cups around in front of the fans eyes - and the fans are falling for it.

Wait until Maresca starts making more noises about transfers - probably in the next window. When we get promoted those noises will get louder and we’ll start to see the same old issues at play - hesitant recruitment, player contracts running down (Iheanacho now has less than 12 months), not strengthening the squad in the required areas and scattergun recruitment.

As I’ve said before - any delusions that we are working our way back to where we were are going to be shattered in the next year or so. We’ve gone from being Brighton to being Norwich

I just want to add that there is nothing I would like more than to be completely wrong about the people that have driven the club off the cliff and into the championship without a pot to piiiss in. I’d genuinely love this to be a new start - I’d love it if Rudkin had learned anything from last season, but the truth is it turns out the appointment would have happened last season in the PL anyway had Maresca wanted to come at that point.

Let’s see - maybe I’m totally wrong and this is the birth of a new Leicester that’s going to find its place at the top table for years to come

I’m still waiting to see how the next 1-2 years plays out 99 before I think we can really agree on whether we’re in terminal decline or going through a short term blip.

I’m no Rudkin fan and I feel that he is far too protected by our owners and not as accountable as he should be. However I also think that there are still some good things in place around a plan behind Maresca and the way we are doing business after the failed Rodger experiment of two squads for Europe.

So whilst I agree with a lot of your concerns and have them too, I’m happy to see if the current leadership team can turn this around. However, I’m also aware that all business and leadership is cyclical and runs its course. I definitely think that Rudkin has run his course and change is needed there.

I’d be interested to know what his and Maresca’s relationship is and whether they’re aligned. That is the critical one for me.

That’s fair Mersey. I think this season should result in promotion - some of the players we have are too good for this league (Winks, Faes, Iheanacho, Ricardo, Justin etc). I think next season will tell us everything. Burnley who walked the championship last season haven’t exactly got off to the best of starts in the PL - the style of play Maresca plays is going to be very difficult to adapt in the PL without top quality players and at times you need to be pragmatic which I’m not sure is Marescas bag.

If we come straight back down again then our transition back to a yo-yo club will be completely and we’ll be Watford or Norwich for a bit before finding our feet back in mid table championship. That’s how I think things will pan out Rudkin but would be delighted to be wrong

Totally agree with this. However whilst I agree our squad is way too good for this league on the evidence of the first 4 games (how poor is the finishing from the opposition so far) I don’t think we’re nailed on to go up.

But if we do I think you’re right, we’ll genuinely see if we have a plan that the club and Rudkin are backing that could be successful. And if not, we could yo-yo like you say.
