If he wants to go and you get silly money for him then sell !! Problem now is that you're running outta time in the window.

I think that fall off was more down to the fact Rob Holding was playing more than anything else. Most teams in the league would be delighted to have him in their line up.

Agreed... he's decent, just not as good as Saliba. I actually think Timber is better too.. was very jealous you signed him..... Shame about his injury

Hard to know what to believe when Madrid were looking for a replacement for Eder Militao they were apparently looking at him and the word was he was happy at Arsenal and if he's prepared to ignore Madrid you would think he'd reject anything after that. For Arteta the only acceptable reason to not play him would be that he's leaving which in itself would be a massive own goal for the club given all the work the club has done to get all the important players on new contracts.

Agreed but why Arteta wouldn't play him?

Playing Partey as RB to accomodate Havertz is one thing but why would you drop a player who has been such an integral part of the team ? His name has been one of the firsts on the team sheet last season

Playing Partey as RB to accomodate Havertz is one thing but why would you drop a player who has been such an integral part of the team ? His name has been one of the firsts on the team sheet last season

The reason I have been hearing from some fans is that Arteta wanted to have more defenders in the team who are better on the ball (passing basically).

I don't think Gabriel is necessarily a bad passer or bad on the ball but I will admit that Ben White & Saliba are better.

Personally, I also feel that net-net we suffered more from this decision than we gained in the first three matches given how vulnerable we've looked at the back, what we lost in the air both defensively/offensively without Gabriel (apparently our defenders didn't win one header against Fulham) and that our passing/fluidity hasn't been great either.

So, possible options:
1) Tactics (rightly or wrongly, as described above)
2) Possible departure
3) Carrying a slight injury
4) Has been ill or having some other personal problems which have prevented him from being fully focused on the matches currently

Your guess is as good as mine
