Sad to see that Tierney doesn't appear to be in Arteta’s plans.
I really rate him as a player , total commitment every game. Dont really know what hes done wrong
Tierney

What has surprised me the most is the lack of interest from the Premier League. There are plenty of sides that play counter-attack, which would in theory suit Tierney.

Do we know there was a lack of interest? The club or the player himself might prefer a move to Spain.
Definitely think he could do a job for a number of Prem sides (including us) but his fitness was always a concern.

Clubs always take a chance on fitness if they see the upside in the player. He is only 26.
Arsenal did want to sell, that's for sure. I've started to wonder if it's something we don't know about.

Arteta wanting to copy Pep with inverted rather than overlapping FBs. Wants Pep's job when he packs it in 2 years. Crumbling under the pressure of Ange copying Pep better.

I very much doubt Arteta's in the frame tbh, doubt he even wants the job either.

The player might want to prove he's still got it while on loan rather than taking a full time move to the sort of club that can't offer top level football.
If a loan goes well who knows who might come in for him, only last year his stock was really high.
I get the impression that despite the way the club/manager often freezes out players we do try to give them a positive career move, even if that means taking a financial hit.

Can imagine he'd want Barca but also City as another option. If he's as ambitious as he seems City is right up there nowadays.
That said, whoever is willing to follow on from Pep is almost certainly doomed to fall some what short. Incredibly big boots to fill.
I'm honestly still unsure on Arteta, we're truly backing him but he does make bizarre decisions and bar last season he's underperformed considering the resources / backing when it comes to results - being part of the squad building / trimming has probably been the best part of his reign.

And my comments were of course tongue in cheek but at some point he or Arsenal board or fans get fed up if he doesn't achieve success though arguably 2nd is success?
Is city a bigger job? Dunno - I expect most neutrals see it that way given the success comparison? Given his history then yeah barca probably features but there are not many other bigger jobs if that is his ambition? Just making assumptions that at some point he'd want to try and emulate his mentor?

Second last season was success but it needs to be built on. Also you can't ignore huge bottle job right when it mattered. There's losing to the better side but we capitulated.

I believe there was interest from PL clubs (Newcastle & Villa) but in order for us to strengthen potential rivals we wanted £40-50m for him which they were simply unwilling to pay, so that was that.
I don't want us to be strengthening our own competitors on the cheap so fair enough.

Shambolic to get rid of him.
No way anyone can say Kiowar (sp) is better than him at LB. In fact I guarantee if he played against Fulham we would have won.
