When I heard that we were going for Havertz I wasnt thrilled. And I was really unpleased when I heard that we were ready to spend 65m on him. Typically I dont bother when other fans criticise their players, but I just couldnt fault Chelsea fans for criticising Havertz. He is that divisive. Almost an Ozil with no talent. I could almost forgive buying him for say 30m or even less but I struggle everyday with how we were able to cough out a whole 65m for a player who was definitely going to be a hit or miss. A player clearly with no confidence and who you could question his ability to produce top performances for a long period of time. Like say Odegaard or Xhaka. Why didnt we just go for a James Maddison who was available for 40m and who is having a blistering start to life at Spurs? He would slot into the Havertz role and do a much much better job.

We have to get behind Havertz when he's on the field & hope against hope that he "comes good", but yes, I groaned when I heard we were in for him & crossed my fingers that we wouldn't end up buying him - & unfortunately so far it's gone just as I expected...
