Still think he's our number 3 for the WC even if he fails here. His record in India is very good, 59 in ODI and 50 in tests.
However a score ahead of the tournament would be useful. He's not made the best looking start here but he is still there at least and with Malan having made a good start then the pressure is off a bit.

Malan’s form in ODIs has been fantastic. He’s 4 centuries and that’s his 6th 50 in 21 matches.

His style can look awkward at times but can't argue with the consistent runs.

Brook’s got no chance of getting in the team with Malan and Stokes playing like they have been. Will be interesting to see what happens with Roy, seeing as Malan is an option to open.

I know we've got the Ireland series to come but that's not really going to be a series for anyone to put their name in the hat so close to the world cup I wouldn't have thought unless there's an injury.
If Roy can't get himself fit then you assume Brook will get in regardless of how he goes in this series. I'm looking forward to seeing Hain finally get a chance on the international stage but Duckett, Salt and Jacks will be the batters we turn to first if needed especially as Jacks brings another spin option.
Not sure what they think our best XI is. I think Willey is a better option than Curran on a consistency basis but Curran is a moments player and at the latter stages of a tournament, under pressure, I'd back him to deliver a crucial over at the death moreso than Willey.
