Matheus Nunes

City have agreed a £47.3m deal with Wolves for the midfielder.

For that kind of fee we should have been all over it once we knew Fab and Hendo were on their way out, rather than making idiots of ourselves with the Lavia and Caicedo deals.

Nunes can play across Midfield and we were interested in him in January. No idea why we didn't explore this one further. Unless the rumours are true and that our business is done for the summer 👎🤦‍♂️

Eight players out with three in.

It just doesn't add up.

I'm hoping for the CB, which Klopp is on record stating he wanted , but I fear another Kabak/Melo/Davies panicky debacle.

Know a couple of Wolves fans who have all said he's good but nothing special and aren't really fussed about losing him.

Will be interesting to see how he gets on.

He is good, but he hasn't really performed for us. We won't really miss him due to that. He is at his best when carrying the ball from deep, taking players on and running into spaces. I'm not sure he'll get much of that at City and he hasn't been very creative in the final third for us. Loads of potential there though.

In terms of the deal, we also got Tommy Doyle for about £10 million less than you would expect and a centre back from Girona we had been after for £8 million, even though his release clause is £20 million. Girona are owned by the City group. So I think they have dealt in player deals above the £47 million to make it up to Wolves' evaluation.

Price seems okay from the rumours going around. Seems dependant on Munich getting Palhinha though. So from Klopp wanting his business done in time for preseason we are left hoping another team can do business with 36 hours left in the transfer window

Sometimes I really struggle to see what enjoyment some people get from “supporting” a football team!! I’m pleased with the players we’ve bought, not the ones we ‘should have’ bought. Some exciting options in the middle, a bit of experience and some young talent. Sure we could always have more, but let’s try supporting what we’ve got!!
