Squad

From an article published in 2020, I don't believe the rules have changed since then.

Championship clubs will be limited to 25 players under new rules which will ease over-spending in the English Football League. It is the first time clubs outside the top tier have agreed to set the squad limit, which also includes a minimum eight players needing to be 'home grown'

Players marked with a star are home grown, players with a number are over 21 and therefore count to the 25.

I think the rules for U21 players are the same for the premier league, Under-21 players are eligible over and above the limit of 25 players per squad. For the 2023/24 campaign, Under-21 players will have been born on or after 1 January 2002. Whilst Cresswell, Greenwood, Rutter and Gelhardt are all 21, for the purpose of this calculation they are not counted as such.

I assume that the EFL like the EPL would count Dallas as an overseas player and Struijk as an homegrown player. (A "Home-Grown Player" means a player who, irrespective of nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons, or 36 months, before his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21).
