Can you blame him? Half of te players at my club are on long contracts, well paid, we can never sell them if we want. If you have a family and a short working life, and if you're a player like Dier, who's never going to be a world beater, you look at the best for your future and family. These players don't want to take a step down, less money, fewer benefits and that's normal. A 23 year old may say, I don't want to sit on the bench bt an older, average player has no financial gain in being transferred to a smaller club. If I was in my late 20s, on a good contract knowing I had few years left, I'd be looking at my pay packet, signing on fees etc. United can't get rid of Maguire, Chelsea will find it hard to offload Mudryk and various more and Spurs are in the same boat.

Doubt Dier is on that much tbh, may be £80k a week which is pretty small fry in this day and age.

I think his future is better served getting a new contract somewhere because an injury this season could leave him clubless and wageless next season.

The game you beat Chelsea in the league cup and he had to leave for a dump and come back on during play.

Within his rights, but says a lot about his character. Whether or not it's that he's deluded about getting his spot back or happy to ride out a year in London then get a big signing on fee next year, who knows

Sick of this bloke stinking out our club. Cost us so many goals with his non existent defending ability.

Levy needs to wait until 11.01pm tonight then tell Dier his contract is cancelled.

The £4m he cost us would be lost, but the pleasure of getting ride would be worth it.
