Thoughts from today

Was intrigued to see starting line up, no newbies thrown straight in, indeed some not even in squad.

Here were 3 points for the taking if ever there were against the team that's lost 4 out of 4.

But today it felt like a group of individuals, not a team.

No real plan except get it to Gnonto and see what happens.

Shckleton looked lively, Struijk look ok until any sort of ball came near him in the air with a shelf Weds player nearby and Rodon, well, just didn't inspire me with confidence today.

Ayling looked particularly lost in this system, but Ampadu would get the ball and then look desperately for somebody, anybody to pass to and Archie Gray popped up here and there, but like I say, didnt some to be any real tactics.

Gnonto and Summerville buzz around and when on same wavelength can be effective, but today, weren't.

And it was like they'd never played with a central striker because Piroe was anonymous, had very little in the way of service and didn't carve anything out for himself.

Someone who did carve something out for himself was Rutter, who clean through literally passed to their keeper.

Sub was left really late, maybe because our bench was so lacking in game changers, that there was little point. Hjelde, Gyabi and Gelhardt, all supposedly about to go out on loan, not going to change this sort of game.

Spence came on late, instantly out of positions, but pacy to get back and get in the way, what was he wearing on his head?

Kamara, a couple of minutes, can't make a difference.

If you needed a wake up call that we might not be going up this season this was it, the result of doing business so late that players weren't available to play.

Next time we play is there a place for Prem league Anthony, which of Gnonto or Summerville makes was for him?

Dan James was great before injury, where will he fit in?

Where will Gruev fit into things, will Archie Gray be eased out of first team?

Is this another season of Gyabi picking up a wage and nothing more?

We had an unbalanced squad before, we still have an unbalanced squad and two positions crying out for attention, left back and creative midfielder not been sorted.

Why do we pursue midfielders who dont score goals?

Oh to have a midfielder who could chip in with 10 15 goals a season, we have 4 of them who might not score that between them.

But it's done now, window is closed, we have our squad, Farke now has to live or die by them, he said he knew what he was getting into, so now it's time to start delivering, 0-0 at home against the bottom team is not enough.

Yeah take it out of context, I haven't done any of the singing. Most days I see a player who is wearing shoes several sizes too big.
Cannot wait for Bamford to get back myself.

It feels like someone has said, this guy cost 35m, he must be good, so play him. I believe Farke is his own man but you can be forgiven for thinking this about Rutter.
—————————————

Was just about to write the same thing.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Not sure why you were going to write the same thing because I don't really know what J is implying here.

Is he saying that because Rutter cost us what he did, Farke assumes he is a good player?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

My thoughts are if he was a £5m player, he wouldnt be in the side.

Whats he shown to be in the team 🤷🏻‍♂️

The club needs it to work because of the money spent.

Not that hard to understand
----------------------------------------------------------------------
don't disagree with your point, it is well put and articulate but that's nothing like the sentance Jonty wrote.

Let's see what Farke does next game. Hopefully he is big enough to admit he got it wrong and play our CF as a CF.

Rutter played ahead of Piroe against Ipswich and was man of the match.
Rutter linked up quite a bit yesterday and was decent apart from awful miss when i can only assume he either thought he was offside or he shlt himself.

Rush of blood to the head, it happens, he will learn from it, hopefully?

Am certain he thought he was offside.

Reason being, two minutes later he absolutely smash the shot when he was offside
