Title charge incoming for Tottenham

after yet another away demolition job yesterday. Spurs are purring right now, and as predicted pre season they are going to be right in the mix this season for the biggest prize.

One game a week is a dream made in heaven for this set of players. Ange can play unchanged teams week after week. No tinkering needed, or very little. Use just a group of 14/15 as starters, and great things could be on the horizon.

Yesterday there were lots of standout performances, after going behind early, Spurs then went up through the gears and they demolished Burnley, only when the squad players were introduced in the last 20 minutes, did the quality and intensity drop, and Burnley were allowed a 2nd goal. Just a little warning that against the better sides, best to just keep the best players on the pitch for the full 90 minutes. Once you get combinations of Skipp and PEH together, the midfield gets lost. Just a small little warning to Ange, which I am sure he has noted.

Yesterdays ratings, all high

Vicario 8
Porro 8
Romero 8
Micky Van 8
Udogie 9
Sarr 8
Bissouma 8
Maddison 9
Solomon 8
Kulu 8
Son 9

Not really a weak link throughout the whole XI. Gone are the silly mistakes. Instead we are getting good crisp football played at speed, with all the players at ease with themselves. And with a very decent goalie behind them, who makes the crucial saves when required. The combination looks just great at the moment, and still have Bentancur and Johnson to come in, when required. Looking really good right now.

One game a week as I said is an absolutely massive advantage to Spurs this season. Means probably fewer injuries, more settled side, and it is already starting to show.

Next three games after the International break

Sheffield United (h)
Arsenal (a)
Liverpool (h)

Need to put down a marker, win a big away game, about time Spurs won at Arsenal, they are nowhere near their levels of last season. So big chance for a statement win. Also about time Spurs beat Liverpool, outplayed them for 70 odd minutes at Anfield last time up, so expect Spurs to win this one at WHL.

Being positive I am looking at winning all three games, Just maybe then everyone would have to take Spurs seriously. Nine points would be great, but would settle for seven points. Would mean Spurs were a club to be taken serious this season.

Great time to be supporting the club. Spurs have spent well. And it is now showing in results.

Oh and Angeball, can we all stop with that nonsense. It is just plain Tottenham playing good football.

COYS

PS LAC, banter club right now.

Oh ffs 🤦‍♂️ Sandy has now jinxed it. I wish you button it at times Sandy mate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Morning Don. Great win yesterday. Have to thank Daniel for bringing in the manager, and all the new players.

ENIC in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I thank Ange Sandy. For working wonders without Harry. Fabulous result , but as always….. Levy out. eNIC out
----------------------------------------------------------------------

And exactly who recruited Ange?

He got blamed for Jose and Conte, so a bit of credit due him for recruitment of Ange.

Levy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ange was at least 3rd choice wasn’t he? Behind Nagelsmaan and Arne Slot.

I don’t blame Levy for Conte - he had an opportunity to get a supposedly elite manager in his prime, and broke the bank to do it. It was a ballsy move that few thought he could pull off, and in the first half season it worked.

The catastrophe and meltdowns of the second season were all on Conte; he was backed, but he proved himself to be a fraud who needed off the peg top drawer players in every position, who couldn’t coach, promote youth, balance multiple competitions or play anything vaguely resembling decent football and ultimately who engineered his way out of the club blaming everyone but himself for his shortcomings. Guy is a clown.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I reckon Ange wasn't even on Levy's radar. The man whose team we just tonked I reckon was though cause he probably thought about how Arsenal were doing under a young ex-player and wanted some of that too.

I don't exactly blame Levy if he didn't have Ange in his thoughts because he wasn't the most high profile of managers and was coming from a rubbish league. I thank whoever it was at Spurs who decided he'd be a good fit though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Let’s have it right, we stumbled by chance on to Ange after being turned down by Nagelsmann and Slot. We’ve got lucky on that front.

My biggest hope now is that Paratici is still identifying players for us - the bloke definitely has an eye, just keep him away from the accounts

LOL stumbled by chance

So we can all agree Spurs for the title and kudos to Daniel for hiring Ange.

Big test will be when we play Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City… etc…

If we still had Kane… & had purchased another decent CB… then I’d have to say yes… we can challenge…

As long as Dier, Sanchez,Davies & Lloris don’t play… I’ll be a lot happier…. That quartet should be no where near the 1st team!!

It’s been a positive start Sandy but we’ve had very favourable fixtures so far. We’re yet to be properly tested so def not the time to get carried away.

Favourable fixtures!!! Three away games, one home. Brentford haven't lost at home for yonks. And Spurs had not beaten Man United at the new stadium.

I think Spurs have been handed a tough start.

It’s not been a difficult start. We’ve done well but talk of a title charge after 4 games is insane. You’ll be having your usual meltdown when we next drop points.

I`m not a cockney. I come from Tottenham, North London. That`s not cockney territory. I do wish people would stop labelling all Londoners Cockneys, we aint.

You have to be born within the sound of the Bow bells to be labelled a Cockney. My old man was, I most definitely am not.

That shows how thick you Northerners are.

I am a Londoner, not a Cockney.
