My understanding is that Paratici, by consequence of his appeal, is allowed to advise and recommend within the game, but not negotiate deals or sign players. As such, he continues to work with us as a contractor, in an advisory capacity leaving Levy to negotiate on the players he recommends.
Initially I thought this wasn’t a good thing, but on reflection when you look at the quality and profile of player he has recruited you can see the strategy, and although there’s been a few misses (Gil, Richarlison, Nuno and the Gattuso nonsense) he has overall done a very good job.
Yesterdays team:
__________Vicario
Porro__Romero_VDVen__Udogie
_______Sarr____Bissouma
_________Maddison
Kulusevski__Son______Solomon
ALL recruited by Paratici with the exception of Son. Although Maddison and Bissouma were no brainers, players like VDV, Bentancur (not even in yesterdays team) and Romero have been real coups and in Udogie and Sarr he has unearthed two kids who look like they could be absolute superstars.
Ange said yesterday he’s expecting a new DoF imminently, so what happens then? Does Paratici end his relationship with us, as surely there’d be a conflict? And does a new DoF mean a new strategy when the current one is now starting to pay dividends?

Looking purely at the players he has signed, Paratici has done an excellent job.

Some of those signings are criminally good 🧐

I said it earlier, we should keep him on but not let him anywhere near the accounts.

I think Paratici also wanted Fonseca (an attacking coach) ahead of Nuno and Gattuso. He's definitely recruited well for us

Are you sure players like VDV were recruited by Paratici? I thought the new data model being used was responsible for a lot of our latest recruits.
I'm still not entirely sure he has an eye for player. I just think he has an army of contacts with their ears to the ground. It's less about football nouse and more about who you know. The reason I think that might be the case is that, sure he's unearthed a few really talented players, particularly Udogie, but his ability to recruit the right manager is just woeful. On what planet is Gattuso ever a right fit for us? In which realm does Nuno fit the philosophy promise made by Levy? If he knew a lot about the game he'd know to avoid names like that.
We might criticise Munn but I think he might have been central to the Postecoglu appointment.
Jack Pitt-Brooke at The Athletic made a good point about Paratici in that when he first came in he created a much larger recruitment team, built a network of scouts further afield and generally put the blueprint in place for us to thrive so his absence, or his leaving, have less of a an impact. In a sense, the most crucial part of his role was done.
If he is allowed to operate on a consultancy basis then why not just leave it as is and then reappoint him when his ban is over? Is there really a benefit in getting yet another DoF at this stage? My only worry if he were to stay on is that, if things were to go sour and Ange or he were to move on to a bigger club, I really, really don't want Fab in charge of any manager search every again.

I did this article last year and now looks even better. Bissouma, sarr & Udogie are hits and I still hold the belief Lenglet done well for us.
