Harry Kane

Do you know what, I actually think we went through this weekends football without hearing any mention of Harry Kane...how we would replace his goals, how much of a miss he will be, how Richy isn't a replacement, how we will be bottom half without Harry.

Testament to the team and Big A how we have moved forward from the loss of our talisman.

You can imagine the narrative had we scraped around struggling to score but 11 goals in 4 games early days but it looks like we will be spreading the goals about, replacing HKs numbers in the aggregate!

COYS!

I still think it will be an ambition of Kane's to come back to us and win something. Whether he wins a load of stuff with Bayern or we win a trophy during his absence, it must feel like a chapter of his life left unfulfilled to not win something with his childhood club all the years he was with us.

Too sentimental mate... I'm sure it would be nice for Kane, but It was his decision to leave.. Time to move on. Don't see how Spurs signing a 33+ year old who will make it all about him when we are FINALLY moving in a positive direction.... Massive NO for me, Didn't work with Bale, don't see the point in Kane coming back

Bale scored 11 goals in 920 minutes of football. It was more Mourinho failure to utilise him properly.

Or 16 in 1,600 minutes across all competitions. No denying Bale was past his best. But imo we certainly didn’t use his qualities enough second time around.

My opinion is definitely moving towards Toney in the Jan window. Ideally the Brighton lad but they will want more than what they got for Caicedo and what we got for Kane and Levy will never sanction that.

I believe Toney will have 1.5 years left on his deal come January, is 27 and currently earns about £25k a week.....ripe for the picking but Brentford played hardball with Raya so will probably be demanding £70m for the lad. Again, too much for Levy and little resale value?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I like Ivan Toney though Im not sure he's the best fit for Ange's system. Feels more like an attempt to replace Kane than move in a new direction. Id go for another player I wanted Spurs to sign years ago (like Madders)....... Ollie Watkins
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not convinced by Watkins or his ability/desire to press.

IMO Toney does not shy away from the hard work, is a better finisher, offers genuine aerial presence, decent pace and power and in an Ange squad would be a very good option. Not untouchable like Kane, but a really good option.

Kane will 100% come back in some capacity whether it's as a coach or, at the very least, an ambassador.

It's nothing to do with not moving on. I have moved on, I'm talking like this might be something that comes true not what I want to see happen, although if Kane is still good enough in a few years time why shouldn't he come back? Let's not treat Kane like he's the bad tempered, throwing the toys out of the pram when he doesn't get what he wants baby that Ronaldo is.

The Bale comparison is different too unless Kane is in his mid-30's and has hardly played all year and we are simply throwing him a bone.

Agree mate. Not really interested in Kane coming back just for personal glory.

Playing Son in the middle was long overdue - we know he is still effective in that position, he is a genuine 2 footed finisher and with Maddison behind him he will get a ton of chances.

I said yesterday it would have been interesting to see how Kane got on in this Ange team - I think he and Maddison would have got in each other’s way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No chance. Kane's hold up play with his back towards goal and his ability in the air would add another dimension.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This, if we sign another striker in January needs to be a good back to goal forward to offer us a different dimension. A young llorente or berbatov type striker

Football is a funny old game, someone once said.

We've had this world class striker and won nothing

Ramos won our last trophy with a crappy squad and he was a crappy manager

Redknapp had the likes of King, Modric and Bale at his disposal, and a large squad, and couldn't get passed a relegated Pompey in the SF.

It would be just typical for us to go on and win the FA cup this season after Kane's departure.

would love that.

Kane did you a massive favour by accepting that move to Bayern.

For his own personal gain he should've stayed this season and signed a pre contract with another club in Jan and got himself pretty much any club he fancied along with even higher wages.

I honestly think he accepted the Bayern move in order to give Spurs a massive fee and stability this season (the will he stay, won't he stuff would've been going otherwise until at least Jan).

This post is total rubbish.
Kane is on record as saying exactly why he left Spurs and went somewhere else.
He had reached his 30th birthday and had been at Spurs his whole career. Kane felt he needed a new experience Playing a different style of football, in a different league, before it was time to hang up his boots.

He said nothing about doing favors. He said nothing about money. He took the opportunity when it presented itself.

And he is still the England captain.

Only if Assieglue does NOT pick a set of reserves to play in the FA tin pot.
If this first eleven stays healthy it might well win the Tin Pot. Trouble is the squad is a little thin in talent on the bench.
So we don't want an injury to Maddison or Romero or ...
