Manchester United statement on Antony:
โManchester United acknowledges the allegations made against Antony.
Players who have not participated in international matches are due back in training on Monday. However, it has been agreed with Antony that he will delay his return until further notice in order to address the allegations.

I think United are making a rod for their own back, this way of dealing with things to appease the Rachel Rileys of the world is wrong!
The precedent has now been set that someone makes an allegation of abuse and the player protests his innocence but yet he’s suspended or as Utd would rather put it “given a leave of absence”!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed, I wouldn’t want to play for Utd. Lots of crazy ex’s out there who can easily try to get a pay out with the threat of going public with potentially false allegations.
Had the Greenwood incident not happened, I’d have assumed the club knew Anthony was guilty. Plenty of players have had some sort of criminal allegations in the past and continued to play.
Gerrard for example hit somebody on camera and Liverpool didn’t give a toss.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They didn't give a toss when he was banging a 15 year old school girl either. Probably best to not take morality lessons from them lot
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You'll be hearing from Gerrard's lawyers very soon for this slanderous lie.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's no lie. It what used in evidence in a court of law in a case regarding her ex boyfriend. It was also commonly reported in the press at the time. When Gerrard was 20/21 he was with a 15 year old school girl. He would pick her up from school in his black BMW. Do a little research. It's all out there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How many years did he serve for that?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Same as Jimmy Saville.

As in the crime was discovered after Gerrard died? Or covered up during his lifetime? Interesting.

Obviously no idea if it true or not. If you can't be bothered to read it all someone has kindly written a summary!
Summary::
Reginaldo and Ingrid had a lengthy conversation discussing the situation surrounding Antony, who is a football player. Ingrid expressed concern that media outlets were trying to harm Antony's reputation by spreading false information. She mentioned that she had been offered money to give interviews and make false claims about Antony. Reginaldo assured her that he would talk to Antony and provide feedback. Ingrid emphasized that she wanted to tell the truth and not harm Antony's career, as she believed he had a good heart. The conversation ended with them agreeing to stay in touch.

It's not a spurious claim. It was well documented at the time that Gerrard was dating a 15 year old school girl. I remember scratching my head about it and talking to mates about how weird it was. He was a regular in the Liverpool team, girls will have been throwing themselves at him and he was dating a 15 year old. Strange carry on.
She is the reason that he had that Bromley lad chasing him through the streets in his car. She is also on record as saying that they split up because she was still at school and he was away a lot. There is nothing spurious about it and their relationship was brought up in the court case relating to Bromley's murder. Do some research. Its all out there
