Domestic football returns and on the road to reading. A little bit of history behind it. A premier league fixture for 2 seasons. Some notable results. The last meeting at the now Select Car Leasing Stadium, Bolton won 1-0 in an excellent start to the season which went Pete tong soon after under ken Anderson and eventual relegation. The famous 4-3 from 2-0 in 95 at Wembley and Dougie Freedman's nadir as 7-1 defeat in 2014. The modern day reading we can relate to. Badly run and already deducted 4 points and languish in 21st. Bolton after 6 games are 2nd with 13 points. The task over the next 6 games to at least stay in the top 6 and qualify for the next round of the EFL Trophy. 4 at home and 2 away so a positive result today will be a good start. Team news. Johnston out for the season, Mendes Gomes out until after the next international break and backup keeper Coleman still out injured. Doubts over 2 of Charles, toal, Ashworth and Sheehan who all returned from international break. I doubt any of those will play so probable side. Baxter. Jones Santos Iredale Dacres-cogley Dempsey Thomason Maghoma. Nlundulu Adeboyejo. Kick off 3pm.

The story that Evatt may have to hit the free agent market won't save us.
If there were any players capable of scoring goals on a regular basis they wouldn't be on the market at this time, they would have been snapped up by other clubs that were looking for goal-scorers. We may be better off saving the money and picking the best of the B team forwards. It not ideal but it could be the better of the two options. However, isn't the loan market still open?
As for Kieren Lee, I can see why he was let go but he could be an option to provide some quality into the squad.
I'm afraid Evatt has left us short and if Dion won't be fit for several weeks, where in the league will we be before he is fit to play?
As for giving him pain-relieving injections, that could mean that his injury will only get worse and complicate the problem.

Ask any cyclist what the pain is like from a wrist or shoulder injury.
It's not that easy to remove or substantially reduce the pain with an injection.

Midweek boredom day today.
Have you noticed how the Ben is suffering financially, these days they are pushing for every farthing they can get their hands on.

I know from personal experience how long it takes to be pain-free from a shoulder injury. I experienced one myself at the beginning of February this year after a fall on the natural limestone slabs around the Silverdale area while out on a walk. I fell on my shoulder and arm, and I can tell you it was extremely painful.
I couldn't even take off my boots, my wife and son had to do that for me and put on my shoes. Even taking a shower each morning was a trial as I couldn't move my arm to wash properly because of the pain.
I saw the Physio and apart from telling me to do certain exercises, there was nothing that could be done until it healed naturally as I hadn't broken any bones.
It finally got to the position where the pain stopped in August while I was away in Spain. However, although I have most of my movement back, it still isn't 100%.
Dion will have the best treatment, but it can still take time depending on how bad his fall was. My fall was on solid rock, and it was a bad fall. Fortunately, his was on grass and hopefully, it won't take as long to heal.

Some thoughts from Saturday. Looked knackered late on. Evatt gave the players the rest of the week off after beating Salford and went back to training on the Monday. Now I'm not an expert on this but surely better to train everyday. I take 3 days and a weekend off work it takes me 2 or 3 days to get back in the swing of things. Something is going wrong. When is evatt giving us the bad news about Charles? Friday or after the Peterborough match? Nlundulu and Jerome. Do not play those together. One or the other. I scribbled this squad together the other night for Saturday.
Baxter
Jones Santos Iredale
Dacres-cogley Dempsey Thomason Sheehan Williams
Jerome Adeboyejo
Subs Hutchinson Forrester Morley Böðvarsson Nlundulu Matheson, Tweedley.

Are the injections the players have before playing available to fans on match days?
Asking for a friend who said he expects it to be painful watching the whites this weekend.

My grandson who does Thai Kickboxing trains every evening during the week and Saturday mornings, the only day he stops is Sunday because the gym is closed. He's 14 years old and because he is so young he fights older more experienced fighters. However, he wins his fights.
If you want to be the best, you have to put the hard work in. Its as simple as that.
