I think what is clear, Rashford should be a 3rd choice striker and why canβt we just sign a natural finisher? Even our new striker is known for being wasteful hence why his low goal return. You only realise now how rare players like RVP and RVN are in football and CR7 in his younger days.
We will continue to be terrible until we get a new strikeforce. Martial and Rashford should be out of this club by now, its crazy LVG was playing them and now Ten Hag.π 6% conversion rate this season after having a shocking 7.21% conversion rate last season which was embarrassing as we did it from 804 shots which was the most in the league last season so we continually fluff our lines.
The season is done now as there is nowhere to improve for next few months. Typical our luck, Greenwood the only decent striker since RVP and he has to be moved away. Our form went into relegation form once Greenwood left in January 2022 after looking like we could get top 4.

Title chance finished and I would take 5th!

The fact that Rashford thinks that he should carry the team on his own shows how low we sink after SAF resigned. He would have been just a team player at best in 2013 team.

Rashford is overrated. Keeps deceiving people into thinking he's this player on the verge of being world class by going through these purple patches that only last for a couple of months at best, where he can seemingly do anything.

He doesn’t even keep hav8ng Purple patches.

If Greeners is Greenwood, no, he deserved the punishment. In fact, I hope he comes nowhere near the club.

Punishment?

So you condone violence against women?
The prospect of never playing for Utd is punishment!

The title chance never existed and I would be delighted with 5th. Results will improve but you have City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs all hoovering up points and I doubt we'll finish above any of them (Spurs may self destruct but I like Ange as a manager).
Then you have Brighton, Newcastle, Villa, possibly Chelsea (maybe not) all of whom will be a threat to us. It's not fun times

Crazy it was our first home league loss since the game against Brighton in Ten Hag first home league game and it followed a similar patter as in Brighton were lethal and Man Utd wasteful. We missed like 2 sitters in 2nd half which could have won us the game if we could score into an open net in Ten Hag first home league game.
I wonder why Rashford for 2023 has been terrible? He reminds me of the Rashford under Rangnick, screw everything up.
I actually think getting 5th would be like a miracle with this squad. Getting 3rd last season was incredible really as we couldn’t finish to save our lives and we are even worse this season in front of goal which takes some doing as last season was the worst level of finishing since SAF left.π In fact under Rangnick and Ten Hag we had like non league level finishing so it is consistent for nearly 2 years now. Remember everyone said how bad Rangnick was when the 2 cup competitions he was knocked out should have been easy wins if we took our chances. Just to put into perspective we got knocked out of a cup with Rangnick that Pep Guardiola has rarely managed as much XG in a game in his whole managerial career. That is how bad our finishing is.π
I think we are doomed, I knew we needed a new strikeforce. Rashford actually was one of our worst strikers in front of goal last season and he was also one of our most clinical players at same time in our squad which tells you how bad we are in front of goal as a team. Rashford only scored so much as he was having chance after chance. Most players get that many chances every 2 seasons.
I think even Ten Hag is thinking we got the wrong goalkeeper, I won’t be surprised if he is dropped. What is strange about Onana is that a few of the goals he has conceded has been close to him and he has reacted slowly. I honestly think De Gea would have saved them as he is usually good at saving shots straight at him. Onana moved slow motion many times which has meant it has gone in. We got mugged on Onana. I wanted Romero.π
Oh well, looks like Ten Hag is gonna get sacked soon.

That is why I was so desperate for Kane as I knew we were doomed. We created enough to win the games as well. Ten Hag choice in attackers seems terrible. The worst part is our best goalkeeper Sergio Romero and best striker Mason Greenwood went out. They were our 2 best players since SAF left.
I honestly think being a Man Utd striker is the easiest job in world football. You get tons of chances every game and are expected to miss them all.π It is funny we missed more big chances than Man City last season and way more than Arsenal and yet teams who usually miss that many big chances score a lot of goals but we are one of the lower scorers and we are doing it similar again.
I honestly think our players think of how to miss. Even last season we were winning 1 or 2-0 and missing enough to score 7 or 8. The culture of missing chances as a norm has been the same for months now. Rant over!
I can see why SAF always went for strikers as urgent need. We had 4 great strikers in 1999 and in 2023 we have 4 terrible ones.

3.03% conversion rate for Rashford in the league this season lol. Kane averaged 23.07% in the league last season! If we had Kane we might have won the league this season.

The only thing Rashford might win in 2023 is most shots attempted in a calendar year lol.
