I only get to away games so I desperately need some input about what's happening to our team.
Today's result seems totally inept to me, 2-0 up against the bottom side and only getting a point. We are mid table and showing no sign of making up ground, the gap from the top gets bigger by the week. So help please!
Of our summer signings only Kerrouche and De Vita seem to be a success, others are a disappointment or have gone totally off the radar. We seem to have wasted an awful lot of money on unnecessary wages. Is this the case?
Our best players seem to be Caddis, Ritchie, Flint and Kerrouche, 3 of these were with us last season.
Is Lanzano as unreliable as he sounds?
Why has Flint been left out since he has been fit again?
Our outward loan players are doing well to put it mildly...Timlin scored 2 cracking goals for Southend last week, Bodin is playing well at Torquay. Clarke is scoring for fun at Chesterfield (different situation there I know but could it have been handled better?). Does PdC have a bias against any player who pre-dates him?
Is he trying to give too many players a game given the (unnecessarily?) large squad size?
He doesn't seem to know our best side. True?
Seems to me we have enough decent players for League 2 and a lot of dead wood, much of it brought in by PdC. Is this fair comment?
Where do we go from here? We need to start making progress fast, we're a quarter through the season.
All contributions most welcome! Thanks.
Can somebody please explain!

Gollum, I'm glad people like yourself are prepared to persevere with this site as we do have some good debates on here. I do read but not post on the adv but find most of the comments really non constructive and pointless. Thetownend is more light hearted and there is a real mixture of characters but I like the fact that on here you can discuss footie issues with other teams fans also. If we get three points from our next two away games I will be reasonably happy and it would be just like us to start picking up away wins or draws and start struggling at home !

I think we should be looking for a clean sheet in these away games as that could bring some confidence in the defence and hopefully Lazano he seems like he could be one of those keepers who when they are confident can be very good he was ok in the first two games he played but since that mistake agaisnt Burton he looks incredibly dodgy.
Agree with you Notts this site is the only one where we cross debate with other fans, thats why I enjoyed 606 its a shame to had to close down, but we can still have some good debates on here.

I can't cope with the Adver site, it's moronic a lot of the time. I really value a constructive debate with any fans from any club who have a love of the game and some degree of objectivity. Thanks for your contributions to this one.
RG - how's your game since you bought the racquet? You'll be international standard soon with the Don magic!!

DTMB,
You're more educated than me - I was working out how to spell "racquet" but gave up!
Unfortunately I broke my hip, so don't have a lot of use for it at the moment. But it's still there!
But, we need a few more of decent souls on this site. Some of the old 606ers. How do we get them back?

I wasn't registered on the old 606 but was a regular reader, if there is any Town fans out there who visits this site but have not registered please do as the more the merrier. We haven't all got to agree as it's about opinions but it would be nice to hear other fans views.
Thought today's news about Paolo running the half marathon instead of the fun run was amusing but not sure about it being a mistake ! Someone has mentioned on the tef that a championship keeper has joined us in training with a chance he could stay on loan until January, anyone else know anything about this? I'm not going up to Stanley but planning on a trip to Plymouth as we are heading down to Cornwall for the half term week anyway.

I think you should try and loan Richard O'Donnell off us, he's really good, just needs experience. I'm sure with the friendly connection Di canio has with us, Megson will accept. You can also take Nyoni, a centre back/centre mid player.

Just Thought I'd say Hi.
Been registered for a while and visit occassionally but previously had trouble signing-in so haven't contributed.
Hopefully all sorted and will be able to share my views with you in the future.
One thing I will say before I head home is that the entertainment at the CG this season is 1000% better than last year.

Welcome Oxon!
We'll look forward to your input. Probably slag it off, but that's what it's all about!
No offence mean't or taken, not on this board - I hope!

Welcome Oxon, this site is a bit stop start for us but plenty of teams in div 1 and 2 who don't get any post so we're not doing too bad. Welcome too Snowy, as a Town fan it concerns me how many players we are still signing, some would see it as positive but all the time we keep signing new players we are getting very little consistency in any sort of match day squad. I guess if the new players are better than we already have I can't knock it. Think we are up in the mid thirties in terms of players which is a huge amount for a second division side. I do think we have enough quality but it's finding the right combinations which is taking longer than I was hoping for. Snowy what's your thoughts on Wilson being on the blue side of the city now? I read a quote from him today saying he has no problem with owls fans and he feels proud to be the only man to have managed both Sheffield sides. I'm hoping for at least 3 points from our next two games both away but I'm not going to put any money on it !

Hi Gollum,
I realise that not everyone has the same opinions, be a bit boring if we did, so no problem there.
Notts,
It is a bit difficult to judge the quality of the squad as many have only played bit parts which is not helped by the number of subs being reduced. Only allowing 5 (effectively 4 because a Goalkeeper should always be one of them) means he has picked cover for each area of the field which only allows 1 that could be considered a game changer. Rightly or wrongly he has tended to pick the extra striker.
Not sure I agree with the consistency not being there. In the last 6-7 games the defence and midfield have been virtually the same with the only changes being forced by suspension so the only area that has changed is the partner for Kerrouche. At the moment, for me, Kerrouche is the best striker and should be starting every time. Connell is decent and works hard but when he plays we lack height and a physical presence. The new lad from West Ham, cannot comment, he did well at County but time will tell if he adds value.
