Yep. The officials just followed protocol.

If the technology isn't working correctly, the officials have to go with the on-field decision, which in this case the lino had already given offside.

Similar incident last season in the Liverpool-Wolves game. Technology couldn't prove that the Wolves player was onside at the time (he was) when they scored a last minute winner. So they had to go with the on-field decision, which was the lino wrongly giving offside.
