Next five games!

An opportunity to get some positive traction in the league and to build squad confidence

Fulham (a)- Burnley(a) - Arsenal(h)- Brentford(h), three London derby's. & a Carabao 4th round tie against Blackburn(a).

We sit currently in 15th place , with 5 points from 18. After a reasonably soft set of opening 6 fixtures.

The fact we were not out of September & already had dropped 13 points, suggests that, despite all the positive optimism in the world, this squad will struggle to have a strong competitive edge good enough to finish in even with a top 8 placing.

Imo, as long as the club can afford to finish out of European football and not breach FFP , then where we finish this season is not such an issue, although it will effect our ability to hold on to our best players & sign new players.

The next five games are an opportunity to build points, confidence and progress in a domestic cup competition, after which we do have 4 very competitive games on the bounce, where on current form we will struggle to get much out of them.

Spurs (a)- City (h)- Newcastle (a)- Brighton (h)

Imo this run will define our season, the time for excuses is over, this squad despite injuries, ect, ect, Poch has got to begin to get a coherent tune out of what he has got. The player pool is currently a 28 man + squad. - minus injuries 8/10 players, still leaves roughly 20 players to select from.

Hopefully we can use the next 5 as a spring board to be on a positive roll come November when we play Spurs, City, Newcastle & Brighton.
