Just wanted to let you boys know, you have a fan that does not honour bets. Gobs off 24/7, then when the time comes to pay up on a bet, he doesn`t pay up.
GB is his name, I think you all know him. He wagered a £20 bet with me that Liverpool would beat Spurs twice, and is now refusing to honour the bet.
Had a bet with Gaffer yesterday, who honoured his bet.
GB is one big gobshitte, who clearly is all talk. Pretty poor show from him.
Spurs fan in peace

what's disingenuous about it?
it's not my fault if sandy is about as accurate as a darren england var offside decision in how he words his bets..
it's the same as any legal contract.. it doesn't matter what was meant.. what's important is what is actually stated.
if you leave loopholes and ambiguity, don't be shocked when they're used against you.

Because from now on, every time people make a bet, there will have to be a number of clauses agreed in advance which just are so unnecessary because this clearly a gentleman’s agreement, it’s not a commercial transaction and the beneficiary is a charity. It will completely suck the fun out of it.
GB hasn’t even refused to pay on the basis of it not being agreed as league only games (even though that argument is ridiculous as well), he’s refused because he’s being a baby about the offside goal even though no bookie has refused to pay out on the same basis. Frankly it’s pathetic.

they only had to both agree to a statement like
gb bets with sandy £20 that liverpool (gb) will beat spurs (sandy) in both league games in the 2023-24 season.
not exactly difficult, or containing loads of clauses.
as for a gentlemans agreement.. if you've seen the usual level of posters on here.. there's very little gentlemanly behaviour going on.
yes.. it may be a bit much.. but if you want to negate the chances of people finding excuses not to pay, then the wording of the bet needs to be precise.. it's unfortunate, but that's just the way things are...
of course... that still doesn't stop a person from simply refusing to honour an agreed bet, even without any escape clauses.. some people are just shlts....
the only alternative is a trusted third party acting as escrow and adjudicating the winner.. but you're even less likely to find one of them on here than a gentleman...

I had a glance at the article and sadly got drawn into reading the comments, ffs SOMETIMES on here the levels of semantics and petty arguing is quite world class
Let it go felahs, let it go, although if you are at work and simply bored asf and filling time then fair enough

Oh feck off fella. GB is refusing to pay out, because of some offside goal. Not because there may be an imaginary third game this season between the two sides.
GB has tarnished the Liverpool fsnbase with his stroppy excuse for not honoring the bet.
Then he mysteriously vanishes, the sad little creep.

Yep. What a sniveling, cowardly weasel. Giving it Billy Big Bollox all week about how they were gonna smash us, taking bets left right and centre and then when it doesn’t go his way he finds a laughable excuse to get himself off then goes into hiding. I thought he was gonna cry in his post match article about how proud he, some pointless plastic bald bloke from Derbyshire, is of the team. What a fecking tart.

yep.. a person born within the sounds of the bow bells.
more specifically the bow bells of the Church of St Mary Le Bow on cheapside.
an area estimated to cover 6 miles (10 km) to the east, 5 miles (8 km) to the north, 4 miles (6 km) to the west, and 3 miles (5 km) to the south of the church prior to the advent of traffic noise..
whilst that area doesn't cover spurs stadium. it does reach as far north and east of the church to cover leyton and parts of leytonstone.. so does cover enough of an area that people can legitimately claim that the traditional local catchment area for spurs fans includes cockneys.
