Highlandwhite Matchday Thread ==================================================
Kick off 7.45pm, live only on Sky sports Red Button.
Apologies for delay but have been off work with my first bout of Covid and a relapse of Gout that hits me occasionally. Not nice.
Another midweek game but a quick opportunity to get the previous disappointing performance out of the system.
Team news
LEEDS
No new injury concerns but Sam Byram might be rested due to fitness concerns. Farke has a few decisions to make particularly concerning the defensive line up.
QPR
Jimmy Dunne is ruled out, while Morgan Fox is a doubt for the game.
QPR have only scored 5 goals this season but their 2 wins have both been away from home with their strengths being a counter attacking team.
We have to win our next 2 games, nothing else will do and vital we score first.
My prediction a 2.1 win, don't care who scores.
Over to you all for predictions and line ups and finally in the customary manner.
Come Onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeds!!!

Bamford, I thought he was in for another long term injury the way he hit the deck rubbing his shin like he was trying to get a genie out of his toe!..
Realised everything was ok when he shot us and ran waving his arms about without a limp!..
And demading their keeper get booked, if anyone had done that with him I wonder what would have been, he should keep his mouth shut and let the ref do his job!..
But 3pts is good, we just have to hit the consistency button!..

Paddy pulling a fast one on the ref is one thing, but trying to get the goalie booked or sent off shows the side of Bamford that is unpleasant. On the positive side, he did look sharper, but he’s still not worthy of being first choice striker.

Bamford did what every player does these days. We would be furious if a player did that to us, I agree, but it happens in every game these days.
I his defence we have no idea what he said to the ref. Maybe that will come out?

Just reading the report and their manager says that both players (by both he includes Bamford) confirmed that he did not catch Bamford but the referee saw it differently.

“I've had verification from both players there was no contact. Patrick is a great lad, he's jumped out of the way and the referee thought he caught him. Hopefully we may be able to get one overturned, we'll have to speak to the powers that be at QPR to see if we can appeal that. I'm gutted for Asmir, he's been great for me this season.”

Not sure why there's the need to be so critical. Did exactly what I've wanted to see us do all season and get the first goal. Yeah, would've liked a few more goals, but on another day we would have scored them.
They never really threatened to trouble us, and grinding out some 1-0 wins is fine by me,.especially on the Wednesday night of a three game week.

Yes we all want more but apart from once chance they created nothing against us.
1-0 is always tricky but I’ll take it all day long.

People talk about Leicester at the moment, but at the start of the season they had a couple of games against lesser opposition won by the odd goal. Just about building momentum.
Also Bamford was excellent after he came on. Demonstrated what a fit him can give us as a second choice striker at this level. Have no issue with what he did for the red card whatsoever.

In Bamfords defence all he tried to do was go around a keeper who was coming at him full pelt. Had he not swerved the challenge he could have been badly injured. Players get sent off for intent if the challenge warrants it.
What went on after that we will only know if the ref divulges what was said - but if Bamford told the ref there was contact then he should be charged with successfully deceiving the official and face a ban himself.
