Minutes Silence

A minute's silence will be observed at all of next weekend's Premier League fixtures in honour of Liverpool’s disallowed goal, the first time in history of VAR being wrong.

Our thoughts go to the victims, Liverpool Football Club.

👍 I’d rather we were awarded the goal making it 2-2

Neither a replay or a goal will be awarded. It's history. Please move on.

It's not the first or last time an officiating mistake has taken place. Every team, pro or otherwise, has been a victim. That's why over the course of the season decisions, based on the law of averages, should even themselves out.

What narrow minded fans of other clubs neglect to understand is this is more than an error. You have ex players like Vertonghen asking if the 19 CL final should be replayed because of a SUBJECTIVE decision. Offside isn’t subjective, there isn’t a grey area. You’re either on or you’re off. The VAR & EVAR knowingly fed the on field official misinformation which had a notable effect on the final result. Will there be a replay? Probably not but the case for it is incredibly strong.

Tell me, have teams ever scored a goal that was actually offside or have an onside goal disallowed. Should we replay those games too?

It's called a mistake, an error. Your players made plenty of errors, getting sent off, own goal, bad defending.

The idea that a game should be replayed because an official ruled out a legit goal is utterly ridiculous. It's happened 100s of time before, in error, just without var.

Not in error, with intent.

They knew they cocked up, panicked and tried to hide it.

You had 90 minutes to win the game, you created plenty of chances and you are harping and mourning over one incident, pre VAR it would have been deemed offside, Spurs players stopped thinking it was offside.

There is no narrow mindedness here, everyone has acknowledged it was an error. Human beings are prone to it. You will gain and you will lose VAR decisions, no different to any other team. So, again why should you get preferential treatment over an error many other teams have experienced or will not doubt experience?!

Best thing the league can do is introduce the semi auto offside system for next season.
