Ange's Tottenham Tactics + Bissouma

I found this quite an interesting listen in terms of how we set up and play:

I also enjoyed this one which is Bissouma's involvement vs Arsenal:

Such a quality player that has added so much to our midfield. Compare that to some of the limitations of previous encumbants.

All good and the joy Celtic had for 2 years. However, man mark the pivots Biss mainly & Madds and it can be very effective in combating the system.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
very short list of midfielders playing now who I would be more confident in dealing with being man marked than Bissouma. If anything he prefers receiving with a man on his back so he can spin him and take him out of the game
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Biss and Madds are also inteligent enough to drag those man markers out of danger areas with them and leave spaces in the centre, thius allows the inverted wingbacks to step in and take up the mantle
----------------------------------------------------------------------
y'all don't need to take it as a sleight! The teams most successful against Ange at Celtic played a man marker on our pivot - usually in conjunction with a general press. In fact the teams I saw do it best put the marker in front of the pivot. Enough to knock the system out of kilter and yes, I was amazed more teams didn't watch and learn but then managers are often arrogant about what they believe will work. Wait and see - someone will do it well - no need to take offence.

Our pivot is better than your pivot 😛

The Bissouma situation for me just shows what a fraud Conte is. Imagine having a player that good and not being able to utilise him because of your tactical inflexibility and playing a hatchet man like PEH instead.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well that was my initial reaction but then I saw a program about Conte and it was clearly mentioned that Conte nor JM do player coaching and they need end product players who are seasones and ready.. Neither of them can coach players. None of the unfinished players we have were coached in anyway.

Also let’s not forget that Bentancur was playing fantastically well under Conte - what if Bentancur doesn’t fit Big Ange’s system, will that automatically make him a fraud?

Got a feeling if Bents recovers physically that he might be even better under Ange.

The thing about Bentancur, if fit, is that i think he can play Bissouma's role, Sarr's role or Maddison's role if he had to.

He is a classy ball player, with vision and incisive passing. Not physically what Bissouma is but able to retain possession and resist the press.

I think he will sit seemlessly in an Ange team. He's Uruguayan, not afraid to tackle, hustle or press.

So long as his knee doesnt hold him back he will be a huge asset.
