The best start to a league campaign since the 1960/61 campaign - the last time we won the league.
So that’s something!
Tottenham Have Made…

Let’s be realistic - we are playing good football, and have done really well to be where we are. The new manager and new signings have all had a fantastic impact, as have the returning Udogie and Bissouma.
For me we aren’t clinical enough despite a decent goal return - we had to work really hard to put Sheff Utd and Luton away desire dominating them both, and made super hard work of beating 9 man Liverpool.
If we are to get top 4 we need reinforcements in January and not the usual Levy skin flint ones because our biggest weakness by far is our lack of quality behind the first 11. Forget Toney, that’s not happening, but we do need something more up top as we’re reliant on Son who we know is a streaky player and also doesn’t seem 100% fit. Richarlison isn’t good enough as we saw yet again yesterday. Bissouma and Sarr will be off the AFCON so assuming Bentancur is back we’re gonna still be needing either PEH or Skipp to step up which fills me with dread. And of course if Romero or VDV get an injury or suspension we’re facked at the back. Our second string is poverty.
The one game a week is definitely helping Anges cause but the chances of our best 11 being available for 38 games straight is nil, and we absolutely need to take the FA Cup seriously.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We managed well enough when PEH was playing alongside Bentancur at the end of Conte's first season when we only lost 1 game in 11. We even had Dier and Sanchez in defence. Of course it would have to be the Bentancur pre-injury that we get back. Although we did have Kane then too, who was as much a creative outlet as an attacking one.
Should Bentancur come back where he left off it should ease the blow of losing Bissouma and maybe Maddison to a degree, but we're definitely risking it without cover for Madders and Son In Jan because losing them for more than 1 or 2 games could be critical. Look how pivotal Son was in our 2 biggest games so far.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Totally different styles of football though. PEH was basically a hatchet man for Conte, in a team that played low possession football. He’s nowhere near dynamic enough or good enough on the ball to cut it in this system. I view him as a handy player to come on a sure things up late on if we’re hanging onto a lead, but the reason we’ve got all the positive stats we have is mostly down to us no longer having a team of plodders who are crap in possession like him, Sanchez, Dier and Davies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe so, but I think even with PEH and Bentancur in midfield, we'd be winning most games.

Would play Bentancur in Bissouma’s position and Deki in Sarr’s position

And every other team in the top 8 apart from Arsenal dropped points today. Handy!

I honestly can’t get too fussed about it. We had brief spells of being too under Jose and even Nuno, it’s meaningless at this point. I’m more arrsed that there’s another poxy international break already when we have a bit of momentum going. Our first game back is home to Fulham which is where we should absolutely be consolidating our position - no fack ups and please god no injuries on international duty.

It does feel somewhat different this time. That's not to say we'll sustain it all the way and win the league, but we are playing much better football than we did under those 2 and the 1st team is stronger. There is more reason to have more faith and confidence in the manager also.
Nuno was never really wanted by the fans (or club, let's be honest) and I always felt our brief spell of good form at the start under him was us punching above our weight. Jose was a past it manager trying to make a solid defensive unit out of defenders who couldn't be fully trusted. It was destined to fail eventually.
This time we have a manager you think our players would really get behind who has a fresh approach. Our team looks like it enjoys playing for him and playing this style. In terms of quality, minus Kane it's up there with peak Poch's in almost all departments. Like Poch's team it requires more strength in depth but on the face of what I've seen so far, I'm already confident of us finishing in the CL positions.

Hope Levy is listening.... However, even if we get top 6, I'll be happy

Happy with top 6? I wouldn’t be happy with that personally.

It's an unbelievable start. That can't be denied. I think it's even surprised Ange as much as everybody else the time it's taken to get our house in order. At last it looks as though we've got a plan. On and off the pitch. We're a few players short this season but the future looks a little bit more rosey for a change.

Aussieglue is a lot better than I thought he would be......chalk one up to Levy on that!
But the squad is way too thin. And already we have lost Perisic, Solomon and Johnson to injury.
And we've lost Bissouma to a rash case of headless chickeness!
So Sarr and Maddison have got to stay healthy, and Skipp must show up.
As for our scoring potential, the Luton game says it all....we should have been up 3 or 4 by the 10 minute mark, but managed only a toe poke in by a defender in the second half. Just not good enough!
Richarlison can't score for love nor money.
Son is not getting good chances.
So who else is there?
Porro, Sarr and Kulusevski can't shoot worth a damn.
If only this squad still had Kane, but....we don't.
How about Velez?

It's a great start but Arsenal have matched it. Munn and co need to get to work so we sign players early in January. Where's the new DoF?
