With his impending ban coming up and the fact that he will apparently go back to being on 4 yellows again because of the 2 yellows and then red (it's mad I know), so again Bissouma will basically be 1 card away from another match ban!
It's clear that this is a part of his game and his tenacity is unlikely to vanish, so I expect to see more cards for him this season.
It got me thinking who could step in for him.
Instead of the easy option of PEH I think either Porro or Royal could do a good job.
I just think PEH is just not as dynamic and offers much less attacking wise.
Both Porro and Royal have the qualities to succeed at least temporarily as a CDM.
Not to mention shock horror Eric Dier can also play in that role.
But I think eithe Porro or Royal would be great as cover for Biss.
What do you think?
Bissouma

Sarr isn’t good enough to play as the single 6 like Bissouma or even Højbjerg.
His touch isn’t good enough and it stops him doing what’s he’s best at and that’s being box 2 box full of energy

Yeah don't trust Sarr receiving in the positions Bissouma does at all
let him play in straight lines

3 of the yellows are for dissent right?
think that's an easy fix

Is that true?
If so, its Aussieglue's problem to try upgrading his brain.
I've always thought Bissouma was a headless chicken anyways.
Time for some management!

No way should Skipp be starting, that would be a complete backward step. PEH will start, would be the obvious solution. It will only be for one match anyway.

I agree Hojbjerg will start, and I can easily foresee it being one of those matches where the match thread is full of people griping about the lack of fluency in the side because suddenly the midfield can't retain the ball in tight areas or move play forwards fluently

Point being, I reckon the next match will show just how vital Bissouma is to the system, and maybe highlight that Spurs will need to think about getting a backup who plays similarly for when Bissouma is out through suspension/AFCON

Wouldn't turn him down, although he's injury-prone
