How lovely it is to feel at ease with out goal keeper once again. Lloris was a great but really he should have been phased out 1 or 2 seasons ago.
I don't have any real stats for our GK, but i believe he has the best shot save % rate in the PL right now. Always take with a pinch of salt because a keepers stats are often a function of the defence working well, or not, in front of him.
But from what I have seen it has been a relatively smooth transition to a new GK. He hasnt had to make too many great saves. His one from Paulina's header the other night was very good without being stunning.
He did have a slight rush of blood to the head with that header mid way in our half but overall its been a stress free experience. Commands his box well and distributes well, both feet.
One thing that always bugged me was Gary Neville's dislike of Lloris He didnt rate him at all, because he didnt command his box, so never dished out any praise but was quick to criticise. And you could tell in commentary vs Brentford (game 1) that he was unsure about Vicario and even vs Arsenal I think it was, he was very subdued in handing out any praise. Neville knows what a good keeper is having played with one of the best, and although he's a bit stubborn in his opinion, I do see his views on GKs to be a bit of a benchmark. I look forward to the day that he says we have a really good keeper because that will confirm that Vicario is actually excellent.
A really solid start so far for Vicario, along with the rest of team.
Guglielmo Vicario

I am just messing around for fun here but interesting stat:
Fraser Forster has saved 17 penalties in his career, conceding 30.
Hugo Lloris has saved 19 penalties in his career, conceding.... 95.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I imagine most of those saves were from before he became an actual fossil.
He was in goal for our penalty shoot out loss against Fulham earlier this season where he didn’t get near a single effort. You could have moved the penalty spot ten yards back and he’d have still struggled.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ya I can imagine that. His size and build was never going to lend itself to a long career at the top level. His peak was probably 8+ years ago now.

I like Forster as back up. A very competent GK, but will likely need upgrading next season.

I was hoping one of Austin or Whiteman might eventually graduate to a number two spot. But I'm pretty sure they're both mid twenties now, so it's looking less and less likely.

Vicario bigged up Lloris in an interview recently about how he’s helping him in training etc

Let's not forget you said Harry Kane would be a mid-table club player at best
-------------------------------------------------------------------
You always allege this and have been proven wrong by posters other than me but carry on spouting it by all means

You know you said it. Embarrassing to not own up to your mistake

To be fair when Kane was getting Europa league minutes only having been on loan at Championship clubs how many fans predicted he would become an elite striker?

Of course.
The fair thing was to have an open mind, see how he got on.
But know it all Grandspur boldly cast his know all view, that Harry Kane, record Spurs and England scorer, would be a mid table player at best
The sad caaant can’t admit he got it wrong so now denies it. Still casts his know all opinion though

I think if anybody is a sad caaant its you. Last time this subject arose other posters on here quoted entirely different to you but there you go if you want to be a sad caaaant then carry on.
Even sadder is if I had of been wrong about Kane, (which is untrue) its pretty sad that you continue to point out my supposed one mistake totally ignoring the fact that I am right a hell of a lot more than I am wrong.
