The video is so biased that when o thought of things wrong with it, I saw comments pointing out all the mistakes and things left out.
The Camp David (2000) is one that really sticks out as whenever someone actually looks at the terms offered, you can see why no one reasonably would accept such a deal. It wasn't a peace deal or an independent state. It would cerment the occupation and make it permanent and then binding on the oppressed people. No control of the boarders? No army? No control sky? Best land and natural resources under Israeli control or given to Israel in exchange for less land in an undetermined location? A 9 part to 1 part land exchange? A road only for Israelis to cut through the centre of the West Bank that Palestinians would need permission to cross?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Most people seem to think Arafat turned down a great deal because these guys are just like that, want violence and to destroy Israel.
Also not highlighted that Arafat accepted the mid-90s deal only for Rabin to be assassinated by his own people.
Safe to say stuff like this isn't highlighted very much in Western media which is more about painting the Palestinians in a certain way, subhuman, violent, unreasonable etc.

OP, you’re a good and well respected poster on here for many reasons and will continue to do so but it’s a faux pas to post stuff like this as it’s very much the opposite of reality.

Fair enough everyone. I was in bed and only watched a little, but the comments were positive, so I thought I would put it up and watch it properly this morning.
My mistake, sorry

No worries dude, you at least mean well whereas there are so many out there who do these things in bad faith. Keep posting awesome stuff though as you’re honestly a credit to the forum 👍👍

Whatever your position is on the conflict, this is not anything of value because it’s a facking terrible evaluation of the history. It fails to offer any detail, context or perspective on any important issues and events in the region during this time. It’s incredibly depressing that this has 1.6m views.

It's just horrendous. I have no idea what 52 saw in it to find it worthy of posting.
I have never been to Palestine myself, but back in the early 00s I worked for a humanitarian organisation for a few years and met a number of people who'd been on the ground in Gaza.
The most common descriptions likened it either to a string of open air concentration camps and/or a flattened war zone. And this was even before the current 18-year blockade. Apart from the daily harassment at checkpoints, random closure of universities and constant disruptions of public life, the routine response to any Palestinian retaliation -apart from more or less targeted missile strikes- would be for Israeli bulldozers to move in and flatten the family homes of anyone found to be involved in a terrorist attack, regardless of whether any other family member had any involvement with the PLO, Fatah, Hamas or any other iteration of the Palestinian insurgency.
The fact that HRW - an organisation founded and for a long time headed by Jews descended from Holocaust survivors - refers to Israel's treatment of Palestinians as "crimes of apartheid and persecution" should be food for thought for anyone advocating 'Israel's right to defend itself'.
It is also worth remembering that nowadays virtually every Palestinian has actually been born into this situation. The world and reality of any average Palestinian will have been just this. As horrific and unjustifiable as the crimes of Hamas might be, can it really come as any surprise that today's young Palestinians might have an entirely dehumanised view of the people that have routinely oppressed them since the day they were born?

Good man, 52. I was busy typing out that post above and hadn't seen your apology. Luckily, I edited out some much harsher criticism in the opening line. No, you're nothing like RDD.

It’s not surprising at all. And whilst their actions aren’t nearly as bad as that of Hamas, South African terrorists fighting back against their oppressors are an analogous group.

Wasnt going to contribute to this article after I watched this video, I couldnt believe you thought this was a good summary of where we are in this conflict considering you claim to read at least 3 broadsheets a day. But hey, at least you have the bolux to admit it was a mistake in response to these comments. The moral of the story is that if you are going to just post a link to a newspaper piece or a video simply with a comment that says something like 'this it what I think' (as you tend to do often) as an article on here, then make sure you read or watch it first and check it really is what you think.
