Eddie Colman

This is a little earlier than I wanted, his birthday is next week.
However I'm hospital bound in the morning, minor I hope, but who knows.
Eddie, hardly get a mention, he was 21 ffs when he died, and my favourite.
He was born and lived on Coronation Street, or it's real name Archie Street. So he could, and often did, walk to Old Trafford.

He wasn't big, I don't think he ever scored a goal while I was there, and not good or tackling, which is odd in a wing half.
So why did Matt keep playing him. Well if the ball came his way, one touch and it was his. His passing was accurate, but he wasn't known as swivel hips for nothing, once he had the ball no one was getting it off him. Whichever way you 100% knew he was going, he went the other way.
He had a ready grin a cheeky charm, and a quiff, I wanted to be him. I cried when he died, it's funny there were better players, but he was the first rock and roller, the others were Frank Sinatra.
He wasn't great, but he was bloody good.

Hope your hospital visit is just that and you don't end up actually "hospital-bound".
It is my birthday on 31st but every year it gets hi-jacked by Halloween!!! I looked forward to it as a kid, and last year as it marked my state pension age, but now it's just marks another year of coffin-dodging.
Again, I hope all goes well for you.

Great news 52.

And thanks for the post about Eddie Colman. It's great that you are able to bring to life someone who was just a name to most of us.
