Saudi Arabia 2034

It looks as though Saudi Arabia are gonna host the 2034 World Cup (and in the English winter too) as Australia have sadly pulled out of the bidding process. It’s a huge shame as it means it’s unlikely Australia will be hosting it at least before 2050 most likely which is silly as it’s a huge sports loving country that hosted a great women’s World Cup and really needs a tournament like the men’s one to really get the game going here.

Anyway, another Middle Eastern tournament in the space of 12 years which will probably have as much soul as a night out with Gordon Brittas.

At least you’re backpedaling to just City, Chelsea and Newcastle now.

Nope. Still PL fans. Just different degrees of hypocrisy. Those clubs in particular just much bigger hypocrites. It was the same with the super league. How did I not understand the meaning of hypocrisy?

Another definition of hypocrisy:

"the practice of claiming to have higher standards or more noble beliefs than is the case."

I'd go as far as saying my example should be used in the dictionary as an example. Maybe even taught in schools.

Saudi Arabia is more passionate about football than Australia. So Saudi Arabia is a much better choice than Australia.

Which countries would find it impossible to hold in the summer? South Africa nanaged just fine.

I mean it's a winter sport for starters but does anyone get upset that Qatar can't hold a winter Olympics? No.

There is very little positive at all about holding it in Qatar or SA and a long, long, list of negatives.

At the end if the day, is it actually good for world football? I'm going to say no.

Is it a winter sport? Then why isn't it part of the winter Olympics rather than the normal Olympics?

There have been positives of it being held in Qatar. Women felt safe for instance as no drunks where around to make them feel unsafe. The world cup had one of the best behaved fans of any world cup, hardly any trouble (lack of drink and the culture there probably helped). Qatar world cup has been overall a successful world cup (other than Qatar's performance on the pitch).

I would say all that good is outweighed by deaths and poor treatment of migrant workers.

The civil rights argument just doesn’t hold with what’s going on in the world. The UK and US playing world police, fighting proxy wars and funding genocide. We’ve nothing to say.

How are we funding genocide?

If you want a list of Countries supporting Israel, then you are looking at a list of most of the western world.

France, Germany, Greece France, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, UK, USA and others have all sent their Premiers to Israel since this began.

This argument that unless you are perfect you have no right to call out others on human rights is basic thinking

Genocide is what Israel, with the backing and funding from the likes of US and UK, is doing in Gaza.
