Gave Benitez the kick, and replaced him with Roy, while dismissing King Kenny.
...but
Voted in favour of selling the club against Tom and Jerry, and got us the Standard Charter deal.
Is he a hero or villain from Liverpool's past?

Anyone with a brain cell would've voted against Tom and Jerry. And it was Ayre that got ST deal: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/liverpool/article6831489.ece

Why do people come on here spouting such garbage.
1 - purslow is a lifelong season ticket holder and fan, the op is about 12.
Rafa did some great thingsfor the club but he really did have to go at that time.
I hope that one day he can come back to his unfinished busines but now is not the time.
The board had to bring stability, they made a huge mistake with hodgson but got everything else right.
So, in the words of Mr T.
Quit ya gibber jabbering.

I don't think many would agree. If it wasn't for the terrible owners I don't think he would've gone.
Saying that doesn't mean I'm not happy with Kenny

Agree with that.
Better owners wouldn't have promised the world to the fans and to the manager. In turn the relationship between the owners and wouldn't have been so bad. Better owners would have seen what the manager is capable of when backed. So I don't think he had to go at the time.
Purslow didn't get rid of Benitez, that was the owners' decision. They wanted him gona due to him fighting the clubs corner against them. It eventually cost him his job but he stood up for what he believed in and every Liverpool fan should respect him for that. We have now seen he was right.

I think even Kenny will agree that Rafa was good for the club. Kenny is lucky to have good people around him, and maybe when he retires he would welcome Rafa back to LFC as no-one can doubt the love he has for us.
