If you read the above article you will see that the Accrington Stanley owner is really so fed up with everything at the club that he wants to sell it. It is hardly an attractive proposition and it is not obvious what motivated him to buy it in the first place. What distinguishes him from most owners is that he is shrewd enough not to have sacked the very competent manager, John Coleman, even if he he does not get on with him either.
Presumably it is largely fan discontent that has prompted the crisis. Relegation after several seasons in League 1 may have disappointed them, but with the lowest gates and the immense competition of larger clubs around them, you could have some difficulty in establishing a case for their presence in League 2, let alone League 1.
Given that economic background, success in the FA Cup is probably more important to them than most of the clubs still competing, so they are likely to come to win. We will see our erstwhile unsuccessful Birmingham City loanee, Josh Andrews amongst their ranks and (conceivably due to more expert coaching) he is now a useful goal scorer for them with a point to prove!
They have a good away record, particularly recently and currently occupy the final play-off place.

I'd thought 2-2 before seeing Nookie's prediction, but I will still join him. Do they play replays now in the FA Cup, or does it go straight to penalties? If so, Rovers to win the shoot-out.
Hurst to score if he starts, or if not, Biggins. If neither starts, Anderson.
This a week I have the luxury of a 08:00 KO as the USA does not go to Standard Time until Sunday morning!

I think Rovers 1-1 Accrington. Ironside with the goal.

No Ironside, and no Close - not an encouraging start. How will the mid-field operate without Close? Are they injured, or is this Gant's "best team" for this match? However, I'll stay with my prediction.

Well done Nookie. An enjoyable match apparently for the fair-minded spectator, but one in which Rovers could have built a good lead by halftime. Molyneux is admired for his skill, but his record of taking opportunities is one that might be criticised and I wonder if his problem is greed.
We were fortunate in getting the decision to disallow the Andrews “goal” which hinged on whether the touch from ?Nixon was accidental. (It is amazing how we forget the favourable decisions from the officials.)
We have been wasteful of our advantage in several games now and there needs to be more discipline generally. “Jam tomorrow” gets less credible the longer it goes on.
PS. Jones remains the least athletic goalkeeper I have seen play for Rovers for as long as I can remember.

Yes, despite the injury problems, Rovers don't look a team equipped for the play offs or promotion at the moment. Mid table looks about right at the moment.

I watched the game against Burton, and for the first 10 minutes I thought we would be soundly beaten, with our much changed team looking incapable of surviving against any League One team. Then the Rovers woke-up and scored a goal. OK, Burton left Faal on his own, but probably did not think their defender would get robbed, and the ball to be passed to the open Faal.
Then we played very well at times, and Grant made good substitutions, but again, the several missed golden opportunities could have cost us the game.
The worst were Olowu's header, Nixon's blast over the bar, and Goodman should have hit the target with the goalkeeper way out.
One of the best moves was when Faal made a fantastic cross field pass to Molyneux and Hurst made a good run, and if Molyneux had not over-hit is pass to Hurst, Hurst would have been through on goal and I think would have scored.
I think the first Burton yellow should have been a red. It was an almost identical tackle to what got Spurs Romero a red on Monday, except Romero played the ball before momentum took him into the Chelsea player, and the Burton man just took our man out. The consistency of refereeing standards across all leagues needs to improve.
Our defence does give me many anxious moments, but tonight the recovery rate was very good, and Jones had little to do, and had no chance with their goal. Note, I was looking forward to seeing Lawlor play again.

Thanks Micky. I was out last night so did not even get the result until this morning. It seems generally encouraging.
