"Casemiro will be out for several weeks due to a hamstring injury suffered during our Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle United on Wednesday.
The Brazilian midfielder was withdrawn at half-time due to the issue, and subsequent assessment has revealed a strain that will keep him out for a number of weeks."
I don't think this is the disaster that it would have been last season in all honesty. He's not been on it this season at all. Perhaps a break will get him back to his previous levels and, in the meantime, allow us to play a more energetic midfield and allow Amrabat to hopefully settle in.

best player in the air along with Maguire

One goal after 50000 missed attempts bought you to this conclusion?
I suppose, considering the alternatives, Maguire is the second best

I wasn't talking about goals. Winning aerial duals is an important part of the game and Casemiro is excellent in the air at winning the first ball (as is Maguire).

Looks like you'll definitely need another striker then

Probably Joselu at the end of the season for about £40m

Always bad to see our players injured but he's been pretty poor other than the Palace cup game this season so doesn't feel like a huge loss.

Some reports that he'll be out until early 2024. Unconfirmed, but its the same guy who first reported the AWB injury so maybe some truth behind it.
It's a loss, both in the short term (I was hoping we'd approach the next couple of games with a Casemiro-Amrabat partnership just to make us harder to beat at least), but also in the longer-term we might be looking at going through the festive period with 1 recognised number 6, who himself is apparently dealing with a long term injury

We might have to use Mainoo to help carry the load. I'd expect Mount will start alongside Amrabat

Oh it definitely a loss. What we don't want is players injured. What we do want is players picked on form. Hopefully it isn't all that serious and he is back for the festive period.
It is a chance for some other players to show their worth though. Perhaps, when we get the likes of Shaw back, we may even see a 3/5 at the back scenario where Shaw is the one tasked to move up into DM as and when the time arises.

Re Mainoo - I'd expect so yeah.
I think Eriksen will start the next couple, but we might be in a position to give Mainoo a run out against Luton.
What we need to do is stop starting McTominay though. Especially not the way we've used him in his last couple of games (i.e. right behind Hojlund).

We really should have signed Joao Palhinha or someone similar instead last summer.
