It looks like the dying days of Jose with manager picking unnecessary public fights with players.
"I am aware of it [the party] and I spoke with him about it," Ten Hag told a news conference on Friday.
"It's unacceptable. I told him, he apologised and that is it. For us it's an internal matter."
Now two things.
1) He went out for his birthday. On the thread on here the other day we were almost unanimous in saying it wasnβt a big deal so not sure why Ten Hag has an issue with it as the JaBrainstrust said itβs fine.
2) If it is indeed an internal matter as the manager just said, why make it external by hanging Marcus out to dry?
Iβm sure Rashford is one of the most influential players in the dressing room so not sure this is a wise move unless heβs trying to get sacked.

‘Hanging him out to dry’ sweat and gentle Jesus. He was asked a question and he answered it. He said it was dealt with and it’s over. What is wrong with the world these days. It was the same when people said Sancho was ‘called out’, no he wasn’t EtH was asked a question and he answered that he hadn’t trained well. Worlds away soft.

Spot on
From where I was sitting on Sunday, the scariest thing was how City were a yard quicker and won every spare ball.
That needs to be addressed by good old fashioned graft in training, you ain’t going to do that without a great nights sleep ( Sancho is proof of that ). Pretty much rule 1 in preparing to perform.
It’s not the 90’s , they’re competing against machines such as Halland.

Rashford went out AFTER the derby not before it so not sure what the point is you're making
————————————————————
Really? It’s all there in the post, did you read all of it ? The bits about graft in training and preparing to perform, all stuff that needs to be done BEFORE a match.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ETH has never said once to my knowledge Rashford isn't working hard in training. Can you point out where he has? They trained the day after and he was on time.
He went out after the game and Phil Foden was spotted in the VIP section with him along with Malacia and I'm sure there were others there too. Do they need punishing too then?
I'm sorry mate but you're wrong. Footballers are allowed a life and it wasnt some random night out either just for a the crack. It was his birthday night out.
ETH is looking for excuses now and others to blame it on. Rashford wasn't played midweek much to the delight of most of the fanbase. The result? We were even worse. π
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would you say that if the player involved was Martial or Antony? What Rashford did wasn’t illegal, but insensitive. Out of respect for your fans and your club and your stadium, all having been mocked in ridiculous chants by thousands of City fans, you don’t do it. You just show the fans to whom you owe your status and huge salary that you care. That’s all. Show us that you care.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We could lose every weekend for the next 5 years around his birthday.__
Does he have to stay in a sulk?
City are better than us. Miles better in fact. And there are hundreds of decisions that have been made for this to happen and Rashford isn't responsible for any of them. The Glazers and board have led us here.
I actually think this fanbase is beyond a joke at this stage. You wanted Rashford dropped from starting lineup midweek and got your wish. What happened? We were even worse.
I don't think any player going out after a game is an issue. It's been happening for decades. Going out the night before a game is a totally different thing all together though. He didn't do that though.
Club is a mess. Fanbase is a mess. Season over in November and people looking for others to blame as per usual.

Because Fodan and them players hadn’t just been hammered at home by their biggest rivals, havnt had the worst start to a season for god knows how long, and probably still had the day off the next day. When your club is one of the biggest and most written about in the world and is in the midst of a terrible run with every little detail being scrutinised then optics are important.

He's not allowed to celebrate his birthday because we didn't win against the best team in Europe?
Absolute nonsense I'm afraid. As long as he reports for training on time the following day as he did and isn't steaming hungover then there's no issue at all.

Nobody is deliberately singling out Rashford for no reason, he was the one who was out the night before a crucial training session. If others were and ETH was questioned about them, he would have given a similar reply.
He apologised and for that I applauded his maturity, yet, you think because it was his birthday, he shouldn’t prepare professionally for training.
He’s in his late 20’s, birthdays aren’t that big a deal surely.
He has accepted it and apologised, why are you so convinced both he and ETH are wrong ?

Every time Rashford is in trouble, we lower our standards to suit him. No player, no player is bigger than United. Not Ronaldo, not Beckham, not Keane, and certainly not Rashford. This is what this bunch of spoiled, overrated millionaires must understand.

Don’t come on here with actual information
He has obviously had a massive fallout with ETH and they’ve no respect for each other, despite them publicly being sensible.

The moment the club say “oh don’t worry it’s his birthday” it gives the other players room to make excuses.
They all have birthdays so that’s at least one pass each. Then some could say, well it was my partner’s birthday, my kid’s birthday, etc.
You create a whole world of trouble if you let one do it unchecked, that is why he called him out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The very obvious way to avoid this is to only sign players born in June and July. They can then celebrate to their heart's desire without disrupting the season.
What's more ... actively promote and publicise wild birthday parties to make players from all other clubs so jealous that they want to go down the same route.
This would automatically disrupt all other clubs' seasons and quite likely be worth an extra 4-5 wins a year.
You're welcome.
