Subjective offside

They’ve just made that up haven’t they? What the bloody hell is it?

Wonder if they’ll keep this up now going forward or will it just be a one off?

I’m going with the latter

Yeah, refs coming to correct decisions will definitely not be kept up for long.

Is that there 2nd handball in the box and no VAR check?

I did like the away support's opinion of VAR.

Maguire was offside, that wasn't subjective. Whether Maguire impacted the defender was. Correct call was made, shouldn't have took so long.

The issue is for every one of these decisions to go against us, there are numerous examples of it not being given in other games. How often is a player who isn’t interfering with play offside and the goal is given?

Hoijlund obstructing keepers view Vs Burnley - happened to City and Spurs who got away with it

Hoijlund pulls down Rodri - Gabriel did worse to Hoijlund on his debut

Handball for an arm out wide against Spurs - Arsenal get one against Spurs

I’m sure every football can say the same about their club, but VAR is an absolute disaster. There’s no consistency and it’s not focusing on clear and obvious errors.

I’ve no issue with the decision as a standalone decision.

By the letter of the law, Maguire potentially stopped the defender cutting the ball out before it got to Garnacho therefore interfered with play.

Same with City’s penalty last weekend as a standalone incident.

My issue is the inconsistency. Ake’s goal against Fulham , reviewed and goal given. Hojlund being manhandled by Gabriel, not even an on field review.

Newcastle gained 1 pointly wrongly against Wolves and 2 points against Arsenal wrongly and sit 2 points ahead of us when they should be behind. I knew the league is corrupt. Newcastle seem to have bought the officials while everyone is against us.

Good decision by VAR for the Newcastle goal, shouldn’t have taken so long though.

How was it a good decision?

Expect the officials in another Newcastle game to get demoted.

No definitive proof the ball went out. No offside.
