The Case For Zidane

As per the article last week from 'The Times' newspaper, Zidane is 100% interested in the United job. One of the main issues we have under the current management, is the fact that teams no longer fear us when they play us; be it at Old Trafford or away from home.

You often hear fantastic stories about the Fergie years, when opposition would line up in the tunnel at Old Trafford and already be beaten; we must prioritise getting back to this standard immediately. Anything less is no longer good enough after a 10 year absence at the summit of English football.

The cat is out of the bag now with Ten Hag and as far as I am concerned, he is on borrowed time. The inside scoop is that he has his favourites, he's divided the squad and is cold with the players. A lack of charisma is often brought up with our Dutchman and is even a reason why Spurs rejected him.

I would also say that during his overall tenure, his performance has not been up to minimum standards; really concerning in-game management, poor subs and a poor transfer record are all huge red flags. Either way, for a club like Manchester United certain people must be held accountable and as manager he is one.

Zidane's track record and standing within the game speaks for itself:

Serie A: 1996–97, 1997–98
Supercoppa Italiana: 1997
UEFA Super Cup: 1996
World Club Cup: 1996

La Liga: 2002–03
Supercopa de España: 2001, 2003
UEFA Champions League: 2001–02
UEFA Super Cup: 2002
World Club Cup: 2002

La Liga: 2016–17, 2019–20
Supercopa de España: 2017, 2019–20
UEFA Champions League: 2015–16, 2016–17, 2017–18
UEFA Super Cup: 2016, 2017
FIFA Club World Cup: 2016, 2017

Not to mention how much of an iconic player/manager he is. I genuinely believe that the above track record, combined with this squad and the tune of £200+ million a season for a few years will see us return to the top of English and European football. At Madrid his record was simply superb, both domestically and internationally.

With Zizou at the helm, not only would we be better on the pitch but our fear factor would be back off it as well.

No brainer for me, bring in Zidane.

As much as I’d like Zidane if ETH left, only an idiot would think it actually might happen (a category in which the OP falls into)

1. He doesn’t speak English
2. He has reportedly said he doesn’t want to manage in England
3. His stock is insanely high right now. Why take over an absolute mess of uncertainty?
4. No manager decisions will be made until the ownership issue is sorted
5. He has zero experience with English football

I could carry on, but the OP isn’t worth more of my time
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bit harsh to call me an idiot but ok!

1) He can learn English or get a translator. Even Varane for example could help out in that respect.

2) Not true

3) We are United, he would come if we want him trust me.

4) I disagree

5) Neither did Pep, Klopp, Wenger (prime), Conte, Jose etc
----------------------------------------------------------------------

3) We are United, he would come if we want him trust me.

This made me chuckle
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tottenham's performance on Monday night made me chuckle more, trust me!

You're irrelevant now and also forever. Even if we keep Dr Evil, we will still finish 10 points ahead of you bottlers easily.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Glad it did, dude

There were more positives in Spurs loss than in any Utd performance in the current season!

Meanwhile, Utd getting battered by Copenhagen from the mighty Denmark league

Yep, we are irrelevant being 2nd in the league then what does that make Utd who are 8th?

You’re in a false position due to lucky VAR decisions. We’re miles better than you, even with Moby.

Looking at Zidane's achievements in the OP there's nothing in the last twenty years, football has evolved in the last twenty years, does anyone suppose Zidane has?

200m a year to spend 😂

Aren't united rumoured to be after cheap players and loams in January? It's not footymanager u can't just keep spending and increasing debt.

May have to offload a few hundred million pounds worth of the dross u have signed before u think about spending big again. Problem is u over paid in fees and wages for average at best players. Struggle to give most if em away for free atm 😂

Imagine Zidane managing McT, Anthony, Amrabat, Evans, Sancho, Mount etc 😂 he would walk out first session!

As far as I an concerned, if Zidane manages Man utd then we will win the league and UCL every season.

His appointment as Man utd manager makes sense to me, and it makes sense to you OP.

So why doesn't it make any sense to the Glazers? Why hasn't it happened yet????

I want Zidane to come just so we can see how it plays out for Culer.

Pretty sure we can all guess how it goes, he realises the players are schit, the players he wants go to other clubs and he gets the sack within 2 seasons possibly with a domestic cup as United show up for a few months for each manager.

Routine appointment, routine departure.

The only way it plays out is the rest of English and European football having a meltdown.

We would dominate again under Zizou.
