Looking ahead...

Struijk out till the New Year, Byram out with a hamstring injury, Firpo and Coops replacing them, and both of them at fault for the Plymouth goal. Farke relieved more than happy at the win today, naming the culprits who missed clear chances. Ampadu looks like he's carrying an injury, lucky not to give away a penalty, and was caught in possession a few times. Hope Spence is near to fitness. The drop off when Byram came off is worrying. November should be ok, but December could be a decisive month for us, with games against Boro, Ipswich, Sunderland and West Brom. I hope our second half performance is not a taste of what's to come.

Regardless of whos fault it may of been........those highlights are simply not enough to try and work out just why we conceded that goal. Need to rewind at least 5-10 seconds to ascertain exactly why Firpo may have been up the pitch etc. Ridiculous to make a judgement based on this link.

It was a good performance today. We dropped off a gear at times in the second half. Plymouth upped their game with some energy from substitutes but that was a very flattering 2-1 defeat for them.
We are in the top-6 to stay. Its just about continuing to grind down the lead to the top-2 now.

Happy we won. Farke's a fantastic signing for us.

Lad's are a very talented lot with a mix of experience.

I didn't think Leicester would falter. But, they are.
Like everyone, hoping the 49ers have a very active
and productive January. That'll be the difference.

Have a look at it in slow motion and you will see what I mean. They cut us wide open with one ball, much like what we saw all last season. And yes, I saw the whole game. We played some delightful football, but we were showboating, and I am not just talking about chances missed, but about moments in and around the box when players made the wrong decisions. That’s ok against Plymouth, but my post is about the stronger teams we play in December, who will not allow us the time or space they did. I liked Farke’s comments today. He recognises how important it was to get the three points after such a big win last week, but he was under no illusion that the job is done. We can see the improvement he has brought about in our overall play; now, I think, we need to look at how we can convert dominant performances into clear victories.
I don’t know about you, but that second half performance rang some all too familiar alarm bells.

In any other season, we would have wobbled and conceded a second yesterday but we held on to the three points and that's all that matters.

Losing both Struijk and Byram is certainly a worry.

But otherwise, it seems like we played some pretty good football. Amazingly, Dan James is scoring some peachy goals and Joel Piroe is relieved to be back on the scoresheet at last. We should've scored a hatful again and we didn't, but we are at least creating lots of chances.

The situation's looking pretty good what with Leicester dropping points again but beyond the league table, it's the way we're winning that is most important. Grinding through a panicky last ten minutes without giving it up is a really positive sign.

Daniel Farke - he's becoming a giant before our very eyes!

And thank you, Agent Greenwood! 1.5m seems way below his value.

Don't think you can blame Firpo for their goal. Anyway the lads been out for ages. Will take time for him to build up his fitness and momentum.

As DF said, 3 points was the maximum we could get out of this game. Should’ve scored more though.

Plymouth scored a good goal. I said when the ball was played over the top that it was a great pass.

Sometimes the opposition just score a good goal and we have to accept that.

The annoying thing yesterday was our wastefulness in front of goal. We had numerous opportunities to kill that game with a third goal.

Much as I love Rutter and Summerville, they were guilty of making the wrong choices quite a few times yesterday.

Byram is a hamstring strain and he might miss the next game. It didn’t look too bad in real time but we shall see.

He’s been the “buy” of the season in my opinion. Such an intelligent player with great attitude and plenty of skill.

Struijk should be back after the international break according to Farke but I guess his keyhole surgery on his double hernia might keep him out until the Xmas schedule.
