We’re 6 points off Arsenal, 5 off Spurs.

With some more VAR luck may not have lost to either of those.

Have higher standards. We are scraping 1 goal wins against fodder. Being comfortably beaten by decent sides.

When was the last league game we won by more than a goal? May?

Arsenal have been scraping wins all season.

Spurs scraped a win against Luton, Liverpool drew.

The football could, and should be better. ETH has said he doesn’t have the players to play how he really wants to, I agree with him. Our defenders can’t handle the press, we don’t have midfielders capable of carrying the ball.

His recruitment has been very hit and miss though.

That's very disingenuous with Arsenal. They have a GD of plus 16 after 12 games. We have minus 3. We are miles behind them.

We're the only team in the top half with a minus GD actually which is very worrying.

We have to do better than this.

Arsenal had a +2 GD against us for example, could easily have been a - but for a hairline offside and lack of a penalty against Gabriel.

They had a large GD because of 2 games they won 4-0 and 5-0. The rest are draws, losses and wins by 1 goal.

That's kinda how GD works though. You get them numbers up by beating the poor sides by 4/5. It's very rare you beat the top sides by 4/5 or more although we know sadly it happens.

We used to do this under Fergie. We'd whack the likes of Charlton, Hull, Ipswich etc. We don't do it anymore.

If we replicate the start to the season over 38 games we will be close to 20pts behind Arsenal and probably 40+ in GD. That's the point I was making.
City probably even further ahead but that's for another day as they have left us so far behind now it's scary.

Hopefully Jim can come and fix it.

We need to focus more on our issues. These teams make us look like relegation fodders.

Team performance decent, memo failed to reach the forwards, yet again. What was reassuring though was both wide players got crosses into the box 😱. I think Hojlund froze with shock! Goals and cohesive footy will come, patience is a virtue.

I also think we look a bit better structured as well. Teams recently aren't cutting through the middle with ease.

It's still very much a work in progress though of course.

McT, Eriksen or Mount, Bruno. Even Amrabat.

Notable absentee? Casemiro. He's been the biggest issue for us in midfield. We have been more impregnable, to a degree, with a semblance of control with the omission of Casemiro.
